This guitar is not a Rickenbacker by any means, but it's pretty darn cool anyway. Especially for the price when you catch it on sale. This semi-hollow version sounds best plugged in, but I love how good it sounds without even plugging it in. And as someone who has very little previous experience with a 12-string, it is very playable. Don't expect a museum-quality instrument, but if you are looking for a starter 12-string, this is a good place to start.

It sounded good. Nice crisp clean semi hollow 12 string. I was playing and recording through my DAW which I use Waves GTR plugins for my 'amps'. After a couple of weeks I went to my 2001 Custom 22 PRS and realized that the Dan12 did not sound very good after all. Still understandable as PRS and Danelectro are not anywhere near each other in quality. But the deal breaker came when I purchased a small amp and the feedback was horrific. I could only stand in one tiny spot to get clarity. I changed cables, moved stuff around and might have even changed shoes to no relief. Plugged no PRS in with the same set up and no hum, I am returning the Dano

Comments about Danelectro 12 String Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I'm a 12 year old who's been playing for a few years and is in a band. A couple months ago, when my band was in the recording studio, I played a '65 Fender 12 string. Ever since then, I've wanted my own. I was at my local Guitar Center and saw this so I decided to mess around a little. Although I did not buy this guitar, after playing around for a little bit, I liked that it sounded jangly, but other than that, it doesn't do much. Maybe someone more experienced could get more out of it, but that was all I got.

Comments about Danelectro 12 String Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I have approx 20 acoustic guitars, mandos, etc. and this is only my 3rd electric guitar so I'm no expert on electrics. But this guitar is truly fun to play and for the money, I can't imagine how it could be improved anywhere. Well setup and near perfectly tuned out of the box. Once I tweaked the tuning, every string was exactly in tune at every fret even up past the 12th fret. Even my most expensive acoustics don't give me that.

Comments about Danelectro 12 String Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

A couple of years ago I traded my Rickenbacker 360/12V64 for a new Martin. The Ric was too expensive for club gigs and somewhat difficult to play with it's narrow neck. My backup, a vintage Ibanez doubleneck is nice but weighs a ton. A good friend since HS has always been a Danelectro fan so when I saw this one on sale I jumped right in. Very comfortable to play. Historical lipstick pickups provide nice tone. Then there's that Danelectro Look. Loving it so far with every amp I have.

Comments about Danelectro 12 String Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

My dad I went halves and bought this together. we caught it on sale for 350 which is great. He plays it more than me but when I do play it I am always impressed. I have an acoustic 12 string that is much harder to play than the Danoelectro. I would recommend this or a taylor for someone looking for a nice 12 string. the sound is what you would expect of a twelve string with a chorus effect when you play two strings. it's very comfortable and light since it's a semi hollow body. the only issues we've had is one of the control knobs became loose and fell out of the guitar. my dad fixed it though. the action has also taken a dive recently as the tension on the neck (which is twice what a 6 string would have) is pulling the neck up. a quick adjustment would likely fix that though. the pickups are good for a lot of styles but sometime I feel they come up short of what I'm going for. they're no so great for high gain stuff. on clean channels though they sound much better.

Comments about Danelectro 12 String Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

This guitar is quite awesome, especially for the price. I had been browsing around in Guitar Center, just picking up different guitars and basses and checking them out, with no intention to buy anything. I had played maybe fifteen different instruments without being very impressed. Then I saw this one and took it down to play a few riffs. Wow! Was I surprised. The tone of this guitar is impeccable. And for a 12 string, it's really easy to play. I played a few rhythm riffs that I'd been working on with my Les Paul, and suddenly I heard things in a whole new way. A Les Paul with a chorus pedal can't touch the native tone of this little beauty. Although I had no plans to buy another guitar, I knew I could not leave the store without her. I spent about twenty minutes getting acquainted with her and then bought her on the spot. Back at home I plugged her into my Orange CR-120 and cranked up the volume pretty good, setting the tone to flat with just a compressor and a touch of reverb. Not a bit of feedback and the pickups were quiet as field mice. The intonation was perfect, the action was super low, and no fret buzz, and the bridge and tuners are super quality. I couldn't be happier. I know these guitars are made from unconventional materials, but so what! With tone this sweet I wouldn't care if it were made from cardboard. I can't find a single thing that I don't love about this guitar.

Great 12 string for the money, realy low action straight from the store. For a 12 string it has a nice slim neck. Easy to play & sounds great. The fretboard is ike silk & the neck is super smoth.
It keeps in tune & is nice & light for as long as I like to play.
