I've played through a decent amount and currently have a wah and my germanium 4 big muff pi and this is by far my favorite pedal. Works great as a boost, and for single coils, it's almost a must. I rarely play without it. I've had an issue with low output. I split coils on my LP which the pickups are a moderate output so that lowers the output quite a bit. I also have an old 70's Jaguarish Copy with lower output single coils. If you've ever had a problem with a thing tone this will fatten it right up. I always forget I have it on but do I sure notice when It's off.
I've had this pedal for over 6 years and haven't been disappointed yet. I think Danaelectro is seriously underrated as a company. They make good sounding gear thats priced right. The only issue that I've had with this pedal is knocking off and losing one of the knobs. I do that to just about all of my effects pedals anyways though.
There's no need for a better guitar compressor than this. Really. I've owned several, and they all do just about the same thing. I use mine in our church for songs that require a clean tone. I can strum the guitar as hard as I want, and it doesn't shatter old peoples glasses when it comes out the PA speakers. I was surprised at first because it only has two knobs; however, I quickly realized that two knobs are really all that is necessary with a compressor pedal. This pedal does exactly what it's supposed to do, and does it well. I don't use it with overdrive, since distortion compresses the guitar signal anyway. If you're in the market for a compressor pedal, there's no need to buy anything more than this one.
