The most enjoyable thing you'll ever put between you and your amp. I've always liked the sound of vintage amp tremolo, so when I got this little pedal I had high expectations. I was not disappointed. The speed and depth controls allow you to dial up a very subtle amount of warble, perfect for adding some body to any style lead, or crank it all the way to '50's vintage zone. I don't find much use for the "hard" setting, but I do use it occassionally to end a song. Without using any tremolo at all, I'll step on the Tuna Melt with the hard setting for the last strum and let the chord throb in and out.
While I am usually a Boss man myself. I did pick up the Tuna Melt. At the time I got it cheap. But for the money I paid I got a great pedal. It sounds great. You have the obvious speed and depth controls, aswell as a hard or soft switch. The hard or soft switch gives you a little better control of your sound. You can have a clear and complete stop of sound or a little of bit of sound between bursts. The only not-so-good things I can really say about this pedal is it outer design. The pedal is small and plastic. So don't take "stomp-box" to seriously. Also, the on and off switch is about the size of a dime. So unless your wearing shoes and you place your foot carefully you may miss the the button. Other than that I do enjoy using this pedal and it does sound great.
This little pedal offers a very smooth, versatile tremolo. I've used it for recording and stage work, and it can be very subtle or downright spacey. The hard/soft switch has been a must: For subtle variations, the soft side adds just a bit of warm trem for rhythm work, sort of like playing through a Leslie speaker, and the hard side is great for pronounced trem leads. Not the sturdiest box, but it will hold up under pretty heavy conditons. Optional power supply is one of the quietest AC adaptors I've ever used.
