  • Poor quality and workmanship

    As reviewed by K J G on 2/11/2011

I didn't expect anything too special for this price range, but it really is a pretty awful guitar. Neck binding broken and sloppily reglued, probably during LH conversion of neck. Bridge lifting off body, visible gaps. I don't want a bridge flying off a guitar into oh, my face. I'm not a rocket scientist or a luthier, but I can tell this is probably a very bad thing. Top bowed/warped. Does not have bracing to prevent bowing. Glue showing around bindings, poor assembly/construction. Neck pronouncedly widens from headstock to body, not great for smaller hands. Very high action (strings very far from fretboard, harder to play). This action means it is not ready to play out of the box, as indicated. Neck out of adjustment. Guitar has trussrod, so could be readjusted, but may not be quality enough workmanship on the guitar itself for the adjustment to "keep" long term like a higher-quality guitar. I had this for 2 days, and am returning it today on the recommendations of my guitar-playing friends.
