This is an awesome bassdrum beater. I got one on my dw single pedal and im getting more for my double pedal. It gives you great attack and even though it's a little more expensive it's definately worth the money. I've had the one on my single pedal for about 4 years and it's still in great shape. Great buy!

I got these beaters with my dw 7000 double pedals. They were ok at first untill I realized they were the reason I was so slow. My friend has a gibraltar double pedal and his were easier to play on. I realized his beaters were lighter than mine. So I went and bought the closest thing I could find at the time which were the iron cobra beaters. I go for light. they sound pretty much the same but they feel better.

Comments about DW Two-way Bass Drum Beater:

As plenty of others have said - these are some of the heaviest beaters around. For me, they make a good practice tool to get a the muscles working a little harder. If you're looking into things like ankle weights to spice up your practice routine, I would recommend a heaver beater like this one instead.

Comments about DW Two-way Bass Drum Beater:

I play everything from Jazz to Funk to Rock'n'Roll to Latin with this bass drum beater and it does it all. I have seen the felt wear down in a studio, but that beater was being used 24/7. It would be nice if DW made a replacement felt set for these instead of buying a new one. I'm content with the weight balance on these and the ability to switch back an forth between the felt and plastic. I've had the same beater for years without any issues.

Comments about DW Two-way Bass Drum Beater:

I switched to DW 8002B pedals about 4 years ago, and at first I hated these beaters. They felt ridiculously heavy and I just couldn't get the speed out of them that I wanted. So I switched to the super light DW Hardcore beaters, which sacrificed too much oomph. The key to these is tuning everything right. You have to utilize the rebound of your drum head to get speed (if that's what you want). A tight batter head and a loose pedal spring are the key to that, you have to let the drumhead do the work for you. If you like having a very loose drumhead, I'd recommend looking at something else. (then again if you like a loose drumhead, speed probably isn't your biggest concern).

Comments about DW Two-way Bass Drum Beater:

I've been using the DW5000 pedal for the past 5 years and just noticed recently how worn the felt beater had become. What a difference in sound after purchasing this new beater; especially with the adjustable weight which the original beater did not have. For those who feel the weight gives it a "heavy feel", you merely adjust the weight to the bottom of the beater stem, and you obtain a much lighter pedal feel; not rocket science fellers. Combined with a new Aquarian drum head, I'm getting a great sound!

Comments about DW Two-way Bass Drum Beater:

People complain about beater heads being heavy and their speed being compromised. However if you watch any Thomas Lang video you can see him using these beaters almost exclusively. He seems to get them up to speed pretty well. :P

Anyways, these beater heads while being heavy headed add lots of punch and once you get used to the heavy head, I feel that the weight of the head actually feels good. I like to be able to feel the weight of the beater moving back and forth when I push on the pedal.

I got the DW7000 double kick pedal so these came with it. I have to say that they are a little annoying. It's great and all that they have rubber and felt on it, but it's so heavy that it's harder to play fast double kick (for all you Devine Heresy fans). I would not recommend these. I am going to buy the Tama CB90 beaters.
