I recently moved into an apartment after years of being a homeowner with a full basement for drums/band practice. Suffered months of not playing the drums before buying this set. I was very skeptical until I tried it out. It's not silent by any means, but should be quiet enough to stay out of trouble with neighbors (working so far anyway!) The feel of the pads is about as realistic as any pad I've tried before, which is to say that it definitely feels different than real drums, but is good enough to be able to do most of the buzzes, ghost notes, etc. that you're used to doing on real drums. The bounce of the kick pad is different than I'm used to, but it was easy enough to adjust to and has actually helped make me aware of some sloppy technique on my part (sort of pressing the pedal into the drumhead continuously after certain hits, creating an unintentional roll of sorts on the kick) so I think it will make me an even better player when I can finally cut loose on my real drums again. I don't play especially hard, but I was really amazed at how sturdy the setup is, especially for being so compact and based on only one stand. I expected a lot of wobble, swing, or weird vibrations, but have had no problems so far. The flexibility of pad placement is also far better than I expected for such a simple design. I played a simple 4 piece kit before and had no trouble at all setting these pads up to match my 4 drums and using the last pad as a stand-in for where my ride cymbal would be. I'm currently using my real hi-hat stand and cymbals with foam pads on them, which I'm not thrilled with, but the overall layout and ability to practice things exactly the way I would really play them is fantastic. If I can find better hi-hats (looking at plastic cymbals right now but not sure), this will be the perfect practice setup!

The first thing I noticed about this practice pad is that the bolts that hold the arms for the pads in place come loose. Often. It's really annoying when you are really into playing a song and you have to stop and tighten the bolts. Maybe if you used a ratchet or something to tighten them it would be ok, but with my drum key I couldn't get them tight enough. Another thing is the price. Not a fan, but they more or less are the only ones making anything like this, so I guess thats why. For the pros: The stand is burly. I like how the kick plate and kick clamp is adjustable. And the pads hold up. The different sizes also make for different sounds, so it makes it seem a bit more musical. I also used this stand for my Pearl drum set as a tom mount. Worked really well for that. All in all, I don't really feel that its worth the coin. But that's a matter of opinion.

    good enough

    By Matthew Nguyen-Ngo

Comments about DW Go Anywhere Practice Set:

This gets the job done, and nobody else really makes practice sets like this, at least not to my knowledge. the hardware feels solid, and there's decent capability for adjustment. my only gripe is that after a while, things start to get loose, like other people have been saying. I got this for college to keep up with my practicing.

    Awesome for teaching

    By Abraham Solorzano

Comments about DW Go Anywhere Practice Set:

I'm drum teacher and using these practice pads are awesome. I'm able to teach all my students and they all get to develop their techniques on their own pad. I highly recommend it for first time users and beginners, and anyone who needs a quiet drum practice set.

    GREAT!

    By Zachary W

Comments about DW Go Anywhere Practice Set:

This set is a very good set for any drummer. The pad action is amazing and the diameter of every pad is perfect because it tests your aim, while testing your hand action with the stick. this is great for beginners and proffesionals alike. If your thinking about getting this set, DO IT!

Great Set, but has a hardware issue

    By J M

    from vienna va

Comments about DW Go Anywhere Practice Set:

So i needed a quiet way to practice, and i was looking for something inexpensive. I went to my local guitar center, saw this, liked it and bought it. Setting up and tearing down are quite easy on this set. Plays great, has a nice feel, and a great stick rebound. The only issue is the hardware. Whenever i play the snare/tom pads and the bass pad at the same time, the snare/tom pads tend to hold up a little bit, and then the screws that hold them in unscrew and the pads flip over. The one i picked up was a floor model, a mistake on my part. Its annoying to be in the middle of a song or excersise and then have to stop, tighten the screws and start again. Overall though, it is a great set i would reccomend it to anyone. It folds up so nice i can store it in a rolling backpack, and take it on vacations, or to a jam, where i want a quiet sound. Great set!

    DECENT

    By drummaboy

Comments about DW Go Anywhere Practice Set:

This practice pad set is awesome!!! It sounds great and it helps to build your accuracy, endurance, and quicken your hands. It also feels like a drum set. There is one problem; the pads, arms, and screws get loose after a few songs. I suggest that you don't buy this if you like to play metal or rock because this set is NOT heavy duty at ALL. Its a good starter set and its cheap so it is a great buy.

    Goooood product !

    By MLode drummer

    from dallas texas

Comments about DW Go Anywhere Practice Set:

The pads are very quiet and very responsive even when hit hard, although I am going to not hit them too hard because they seem like the just might crack or break; as they are made of plastic( the bases that is). One other problem I have with this practice pad set is :(let me preface by saying that I play the DW 7000 single bass drum pedal) the bass drum pad is VERY loud and somewhat " hard ", so- practicing can be heard from another room - which isn't great for me ! But over-all it's a gooood product to have and I would recommend it to anyone.
