Don't get me wrong, I like features but some didn't live up to my expectations. The good: The stand is VERY heavy duty and can easily hold 150 lbs (don't try it though!). The memory lock is a great feature but not COMPLETLY necessary as the joint holds well on it's own. The extendable basket helps in a double pedal set up and offers infinite adjustment options. The BAD!:The toothless tilter still moves even with it fully tigthened and locked. It can hold a snare stationary but playing can make it move if the basket is extended more than an inch or so. The basket can be adjusted to hold down to a 13in. snare and up to a 15in. snare. Dw does offer a contoured one (9303) for smaller snares. Overall: This is very sturdy if the basket is close to center. However it is a little pricey! I never knew how bad my old CB stand was until I used this! If your budget does not allow for this, Buy a 900 series PDP stand instead.

I have two of these, they are both 5 years old. They are very heavy-duty, the memory locks are great, its a top notch stand except for one problem. Twice, on both stands, the tilter ratchet handle (the black spring-loaded plastic handle that lets you loosen/tighten the basket tilter so you can adjust it) has broken. This is under very light usage, once I get it set I rarely move it. The way it's made, there's just a cheap plastic piece that attaches the spring-loaded handle to the threaded portion. Its a really weak point and a really poor design. One of the stands broke last year and they replaced the handle under warranty, but they didn't change the design and now it has broken again.

DO NOT BUY THIS STAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By Taylor

from Grapevine, TX

I recently acquired one of these stands, I had to own a DW 9000 series piece of hardware due to the glory these stands get. Does not live up to the hype. The snare arm is held by two circular metal pieces that get closer as you tighten the lever, much like the design on many boom cymbal stands. This is not a stable design, the arm shifts within the plates, and even moves up and down a little bit. This stand is not stable, and certainly not worth the outrageous price. I would not recommend this product to anybody.

H E A V Y B E A U T Y !

By BALOO SERRANO

from Hermosillo, MX

I have a Starclassic Tama and I was looking for a snare stand of the same brand series. I wen't to my local dealer and I saw just a few stands, immediately my eyes turned to that beautiful piece!! I was dumbed, I grabbed it and I asked: AND THIS??? WHAT IS THIS???... he told me: IT'S THE DW9000 SERIES SNARE STAND. I get amazed! it was a little expensive but of course I bought it. I thought "this is the best stand I ever had". If you know what I'm talking of just hold it for a second. It's so heavy and beautiful. Just two "not-that-good" points: It's a little expensive so WHY YOU NEED A STAND THAT HEAVY?. There's some other good snare stands cheaper than this. I think this is a vanity piece, and buy this just if you think that you deserve it. You'll feel proud of having this HEAVY and BEAUTIFUL stand.

Finally, Options!

By Guy

from wisconsin

This snare stand is my favorite so far. I play traditional grip alot and this is one of the few stands where I can really get the angle I really want. It has a great stable base (heavy duty) that allows for maximum options. If you play a pretty straight ahead rock setup you could easily go with something cheaper, but if you want total control over your snare's position, this is the one! Also I have not had it move ever on me.

This stand is very reliable. Wherever I go it goes with me. Easy to set up, and fairly priced. I think it is essential to have one if you gig out a lot. Very Reliable.

Very Impressive Stand

By Mark Daniel

from Virginia

I am a HUGE skeptic when it comes to DW equipment simply because of the fact that most of their products i feel are a bit over priced and simalar in quality to much cheeper brands such as Pearl and even PDP (wich is run by DW) but I was very impressed when I used this snare stand. My friend bought it just to see if the famous DW 9300 snare stand accualy lived up to its reputation and well it certainly did. I have yet to play on a different stand that is more sturdy. I recomend it highly if you can come up with (and are willing to spend) the money for one. Buy it and you wont need another snare stand ever. It also works as a great rack tom mount for those who dont like to mount directly to the bass drum or cymbal stands

No worries when this is on stage.

By pip

from Los Angeles

I have a 23lb carbon steel snare drum that has made two other stand look like they should have never shown up for the gig. I admit the price is a bit steep, but this stand is the only one i've found that can handle the weight of the drum as well as the continual stress from being hit night after night. At the end of the day, when you need something that you can depend on, you won't have any complaints about this.
