I have a large setup with 2x Bass drums & DW 9000 pedals. I always had issues positioning my Hihat stand exactly where i wanted it... Now I have this pedal & have positioned the Hats, and Pedal exactly where I want them. Purchasing this DW Remote has significantly changed my dynamics and I only received it a few days ago. My Left Foot Set-up = DW 9000 Bass pedal + DW 9000 Remote Hihat pedal + Tama Cobra clutch (for fast hands free heel-toe action across these pedals). The Remote is holding heavy 14" Hats, & is used as my main Hihat. I attached the Remote clamp to an individual stand, as I really hate anything wobbling... My Pearl 15-Piece kit w/ 11 Zildjians is Rock solid, and im playing it like im possessed! Thanks DW, this is an exceptional adjustment to my playing, and adding that Cobra clutch... Phewwww man... Get on it, check it out... I play intense Double-kick and now totally love my foot pedal set-up. This is the set-up I have always wanted.... The only small downside is the Clamp/arm provided is a little on the short side, apart form that, this is Awesome, but don't forget the Cobra clutch>>> OMG>>>> Thanks DW for Best Remote available!!!!!!!

A lot of the hardware on my kit is DW. They make excellent products. Hate to say it, but this was one a bit of a disappointment. I ended up buying and returning this item two times. The first time I returned it was, because the contents of the box to not match with what the outside of the box says should be inside. The first one I bought had obviously been opened before I purchased, so I just assumed that someone had remove the (1) Low-Profile Cable Housing, (2) SOS Drop Clutch and (3) Carrying Bag. I returned in and ordered a new one. The next one was clearly in an unopened box with factory glue, but those same three items were missing again. After speaking with DW, I learned that DW made some special accommodations for GC by omitting those three items, so GC can sell it at a lower price. The second time I returned it was, because there are several quirky things about the functionality of this product. The main problem I have with this stand is the angle of the pedal. The angle is significantly higher than any other HH pedal I've ever used and was just awkward as hell and worst of all, the angle cannot be adjusted. I called DW and they confirmed that the angle could not be adjusted. This was the main reason I returned it for the second time, but some other things I did not like about it was that no matter how hard I pressed down on the pedal, I could never get a tight "chick" from my HH cymbals. It was the same sound that you get if you were to unscrew your clutch and just let your top hat rest on your bottom hat. Very loose and washy sounding. Also, the felts were pretty jacked up too. I tried to sandwich the bottom hat in between the two felts that were provided, but the felts are so thick that my top hat and bottom hat were unable to touch. There was about a half inch space in between the top and bottom hat. I had to go to my local GC and buy a set of thin HH felts before I ever was able to try it out. On a positive note, I ended up buying the Pearl RH-2000 Eliminator Remote Hi-Hat Stand and love everything about this stand. I am going to leave a review on it for anyone who might be interested.

Comments about DW 9000 Series Remote Hi-Hat:

This DW 9000 is a quality piece. I have always had a problem with the 3 pedals on my kit. So I looked around for some time and compared different units before making the choice to go with the DW 9000. Works perfect for my kit. DW has a great reputation when it comes to drums and hardware. Even though I play a Gretsch kit. most of my stands and hardware are DW,

Comments about DW 9000 Series Remote Hi-Hat:

I needed a hat stand for my home studio. I have always had an e kit at home. Well, I recently upgraded to a Roland TD 30 and was told "any hat stand will work with the Roland". Well, I had a fixed hat and was NOT used to anything but a remote pedal. I bought the Trick Drums remote pedal first because I have a Trick kick pedal. Well, I won't bash them. Let's just say it was sent back later that day and I ordered the DW. So the DW shows up. There is NOTHING like it. Worth every penny. It's fluid, smooth and works just like you would expect a DW hat stand to. I ordered the 4 ft cable and it is still too long for where I have mine. However, the capability to move it anywhere is just amazing to me. The pedal is identical to the regular stand just cut ankle high with the same spikes and solid performance. I was a little shocked it had the ability to move the Roland VH13 hat the way it does too. I know it feels clunky compared to my acoustic hats and this stand has no issues. One thing I am a little miffed about and it is not DW's fault but, there is supposed to be a SOS drop clutch in the box also supposed to be a carrying bag- nope. I never order anything from Musicians friend and this will be the last time due to this. I think for this kind of money all the contents should be in the box.

Comments about DW 9000 Series Remote Hi-Hat:

Good product, made strong and reliable equipment. Good for drummers who do not like crossing their arms while playing hi hat. Mounting arm could be a little bit more longer. I wish that when I ordered the product that their was an option to be able to order it with a carrying case, I would have ordered it for easy transportation to minimize cable kinking during transportation. Since I got a ten foot cable, because I wasn't sure what side I was going to use my remote hi hat, I ended using it on the left more to the front of my snare, but now I wish I had ordered the shorter cable. Not sure how short I can go without kinking. Replacement cables seem expensive, so I'm stuck with ten foot cable. Over all, I still like the pedal, it's a great pedal.

DW got it right whent they designed the new 9000 series remote hi-hat stand. Place it anywhere on the kit. Whether you are a lefty or a righty, it doesn't matter. The smooth action of the cam makes it a pleasure to open and close.

I just bought this product yesterday and i am very impressed. It is much smoother than my old high hat stand, and i now have my high hats mounted in the middle of my four toms ^.^ The Pedal is very adjustable and versatile, The legs are very easy to work with and it is a solid product.

      remote hi hat stand

By kid from down the street

from twinky flats i DA ho.

Comments about DW 9000 Series Remote Hi-Hat:

I've played on one of these before and it helped me out a ton, considering I have my hi hat on the right side. I just can't stand crossing my arms simply cause I always hit my hands and forearms which causes me to get off beat. The only question I have about this is how big is the mounting hardware that comes with it? It looks too small for a 14" hi hat.

      DW 9502

      By Wilbur-kvRbK

      from Minnesota

Comments about DW 9000 Series Remote Hi-Hat:

I play a Tama Starclassic set with 4 toms. Needed to get the HiHat closer to my snare. I like to keep Hardware the same but I had no choice. The response of this HiHat stand is better then any other I have used. I have use DW, Tama RoadPro and Iron Cobra. The 9502 is awesome. I bought the 8ft cable because I like the ability to put it anywhere on my set. They make different sized cables if you are worried about looks. It is expensive, but if you are looking to grow into a better set, buy it. You will not be disappointed. I Love my Tama Drums and Hardware but I use all DW pedals.

cool, but I didn't like it

      By Something Wicked's drummer

      from Huntington, WV

Comments about DW 9000 Series Remote Hi-Hat:

this product is very flexible. I use Sabian metal-x hi-hats which are very heavy cymbals. When i put the cymbals on they would bounce unless i had my foot on the pedal. this would work better as a second hi-hat or with lighter weight hi-hats. You can mount this thing anywhere. This was not for me but it is a good product. Try it you might like it better then I did.
