The 4002P is an amazing pedal. The movement on both sides is extremely smooth. The adjustablility of it makes it very easy to fit into any kit with out having to change the position of things like your snare and hi-hats. This is an overall great pedal and a great value. If you are looking to buy a double bass pedal, look no more, for you have found it.

I got this pedal about 2 years ago and am very disapointed with it. On Pearl Eliminators and TAMA Iron Cobras,I can get up to anywhere between 270 and 290 BPM. But with these pedals, The highest I've gotten is 196 BPM! Even on the Lowest of spring tension, the pedal still feels pretty heavy and tight. The beater comes back and kicks you in the shin on almost every hit. Also, your left foot doesn't glide very smooth, and there's not much power at all. For any drummer that plays some type of Rock or Metal, don't get any of the DW's. Go with either the TAMA Iron Cobras or prefferably myself the PEARL Eliminators. They give alot more Power, Speed, plus they feel and glide much smoother.

Comments about DW 4002P Double Bass Drum Pedal:

this is a great pedal i bought this at my local guitar center about three and i love this pedal sooooooo much it is better than my iron cobra the only thing is that it hits my leg when it hits the drum and comes back but i highly suggest this to anyone looking for a cheap but very rugged peddel.

It Is What It Is

Comments about DW 4002P Double Bass Drum Pedal:

Solid pedal, I'd say. Granted, it's not amazing. A lot of people seem to think that the higher the number, the better the pedal. But that's really not true at all, it's just a matter of preference. Some people like the feel of the 4000's, some don't. I think it does exactly what I want it to. You simply CANNOT compare this to Iron Cobras or Eliminators, it's not fair to this pedal considering it's cheaper. Like all DW pedals, it's incredibly solid, and also like DW pedals, all the parts are easily replaced. Break something, go to Guitar Center, they'll give you whatever you need for a couple bucks and then you're good to go. However, as far as cheaper DW's go, I'd get the 2000's. They're essentially the same as the 7000's (they just look different, I swear) and more people seem to like them. It all depends on what you like, but if you want a reasonable pedal, go with these or the 2000's, figure out what you like in a double pedal, and then move on from there.

amazing pedle

Comments about DW 4002P Double Bass Drum Pedal:

This pedal is way better than i expected it to be! The only problem i had is with the tension spring keeps falling off when I'm doing some hardcore stuff. This pedal is great for beginners. It's great for the price! Even though I'm 14 this is an awesome pedal!

Comments about DW 4002P Double Bass Drum Pedal:

the DW 4000 double pedal is not adjustable enough.. when i play, the beater will come back and hit me right on top of the foot leaving me a big bruise. iv tried lowering the beaters and tightening the springs but it still does it.

Good Starter Pedal

By

from Norfolk VA

Comments about DW 4002P Double Bass Drum Pedal:

I purchased the DW 4002P Double Bass Pedal as a low-cost introduction to the double pedal, and to simply replace the cheap pedal that was included with my kit. It performs these functions adequately, but a more experienced and/or professional drummer will be dissatisfied. There are indeed better pedals available for not much more money. But remember this is marketed as a budget pedal, so its not fair to criticize it for being exactly what it is. Interesting that other reviewers note that the pedal flies back and hits you on the shin. It really does. I thought it was just me!

Alright

Comments about DW 4002P Double Bass Drum Pedal:

Before you buy this pedal, realize that there's way better pedals out there by different brands for a little extra money. However, if you're a beginner looking to practice your footwork and BPM, I reccomend this pedal. But before you buy it, I'd like to warn you that the left pedal is stiff slightly, and you need a little extra force when pushing it down. But this one makes a great first double-bass for any aspiring metalist. Then again, for some extra money, get an Axis if this isin't your first double-bass.

Alright...

Comments about DW 4002P Double Bass Drum Pedal:

The right pedal is extremely good, but wears away at the bass drum. The one huge problem is that the slave beater is stiff. You have to use more force, and you can't play precisely with your left foot.
