I have read other reviews about DW's two legged hi-hat stands and heard how terrible it was and they nearly changed my mind about upgrading. They said it was unstable, impossible to get level, and not for heel up players. I bought this stand and I am with out a doubt, 100% satisfied with my purchase. It is very stable, more so than my three legged ludwig stand I just replaced. Its very sturdy and I would have to literally kick it at the memory lock to make it wobble or tip. Heel up or heel down its not going anywhere. I dont know who would discredit this stand or stands like it, except who have no business drumming in the first place. Its a definate buy.

After adding another bass drum, I realized the need to purchase a 2 legged stand. Working on a somewhat of a budget, the sales rep recommended the low end DW stand. It was easy to assemble, but looked kinda flimsy out of the box. Once I put my 15" hi hat cymbals on, I couldn't get the stand from tipping when playing. I read all the reviews, and a lot of people were saying you had to get the legs just right. After playing with this for an hour, I put it back in the box and returned it. The sales rep Ryan at the Glen Burnie MD. store hooked me up with the Pearl Eliminator H2000. He was able to sell me the floor model, which was the only one they had in stock. Although it was somewhat more expensive, the thing doesn't budge, even after I mounted my cowbell on it. I had never purchased any DW equipment before-I play a vintage Ludwig set with all Pearl pedals and hardware. I purchased this on reputation, and price. Save your money-get the Pearl.

Worth the $100 in savings!

By Anthony Ballard

from Indianapolis, IN.

Comments about DW 3000 Series 2-Leg Hi-Hat Stand:

After reading the reviews I decided to go in and compare the 3000 with the 5000. The 3000 has smaller diameter tubes, the legs are a bit smaller and the footboard is a bit smaller. Other than that, it is the same pedal. Played on it hard with heel up and down. ROCK SOLID! That is the Hi-Hat stand for me and I saved about $100!!!!!

Best Hi-Hat Stand Ever.

By Roman Hernandez

from Goshen, IN

Comments about DW 3000 Series 2-Leg Hi-Hat Stand:

I have just bought this new Hi-Hat stand. I have always loved DW's hardware. I know alot of people think that this stand wobbles around alot. But they are with out a doubt wrong. This stands is great and very adjustable for any kind of drummer out there. This is the first time i have ever had a 2 leg hi-hat stand and i love it. The 2 legs adjust very well. It also comes with a 21" and 15" upper rod which makes it very easy to adjust to whatever way you want it. I play alot of rock and heavy metal music. So believe me when i say that i usually hit my drums pretty hard. This stand doesn't go anywhere. I very very happy with this buy and with out a doubt deserve a 5 out 5. I would recommed this hi-hat stand to anyone out there looking to buy a new hi-hat stand.

DW 3000 HI-HAT

By Jordan Berg

from Oakhurst California.

Comments about DW 3000 Series 2-Leg Hi-Hat Stand:

Best Hi-hat stand ever. I got this about a week ago and it's awesome. It is really smooth, has a adjustable response system, swivel legs and an awesome locking clutch. It also comes with a neat drum key holder and of course a drum key. Definitely buy this product or at least put it on the top of your list.

Does Not Wobble

By Durge

from Western, MA

Comments about DW 3000 Series 2-Leg Hi-Hat Stand:

If you want a high quality 2 legged hi hat stand at a great price? This is it. This thing is rock solid and doesnt wobble even if the legs are off to one side. A must for double bass guys, or someone with a cramped set-up.

WHAT ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT?

By John Brandt

from Spotsylvania, VA

Comments about DW 3000 Series 2-Leg Hi-Hat Stand:

This pedal is awesome. It far exceeded my expectations. I am primarily a jazz and funk player and don't really use other pedals. I was at the store hoping to get the three leg stand and this is all they had in the 3000 series. Who cares about a third leg? This thing is rock solid and it ain't going anywhere. Big band jazz requires as heavy a left foot as any style of music and this thing doesn't move. As for the guys giving it bad reviews, they need to learn how to adjust hardware. If its wobbling, they set it up wrong. I just don't get it. This thing is simple. DW makes the best hardware, and this stand easily surpasses anything else at this price point.

Great stand for the price!

By T. Bigoness

from Walnut Creek, CA

Comments about DW 3000 Series 2-Leg Hi-Hat Stand:

I bought this stand with some trepidation after reading the other reviews posted - but I am pleased with this stand so far. The setup was very easy and the legs and pedal are adjustable - so as far as stability and slippage, I have not experienced any wobbling. You can adjust the legs so that they sit at different angles behind the stand and by adjusting the pedal bolts I had no trouble getting and maintaining stability. The action is smooth - and so far compares favorably to my higher-end hi-hat. I bought this as a more lightware spare and for the price I am pleased so far.

Wack Pedal - If you're a serious drum player

By Gigi

from Atlanta, GA

Comments about DW 3000 Series 2-Leg Hi-Hat Stand:

This pedal is very wobbly. Also it isn't level when playing on stage. I tried to fix this problem during a break on a gig but after i had returned back to play a fast song, again the pedal started to move around and tilt. I'm taking this thing back and upgrading to a better pedal. DW needs to make the three legged model! Very disappointed considering the price that you pay for it.

NOT for Heel-Up Players

By Aaron M

from Sacramento, CA

Comments about DW 3000 Series 2-Leg Hi-Hat Stand:

This design is severely flawed in the absence of a leg directly behind the stand. When you apply any pressure forward on the stand (as in heel-up playing), it wobbles dramatically making the cymbals a moving target and thumping on the stage. This design was intended to open up space for a double bass drum pedal - which it does - but a three-leg design with the side legs perpendicular to the pedal would allow the stability needed for those who actually use the foot pedal to play their hats. The engineers they hire clearly aren't very creative.
