      DW 9002PC Double Pedal (443252)
Availability:

The latest advance in drum pedal technology.

The DW 9002PC Double Pedal is just what you need for reaction and speed. To create incredibly smooth, gravity-defying action, the 9000's Floating Rotor is not permanently affixed on a conventional drive shaft but is mounted on a free-floating drive shaft using friction-reducing ball-bearings. In addition, the patented Rotor can be infinitely adjusted using the Infinite Torque Adjustment for a variety of positions from center (Turbo-style) to eccentric (Accelerator-style), achieving the desired balance of power and precision in any playing situation. Furthermore, by moving the location of the Floating Spring from the end of the hex shaft to the center of the pedal, the vertical alignment of the moving parts is maintained and the indirect transfer and loss of energy is virtually eliminated - further optimizing the pedal's speed and power and precision. In addition to Delta ball-bearings at the rocker, hex shaft, and hinge, the 9000 also employs friction-reducing ball-bearings in the rotor and spring connector while incorporating several of the 5000 Series' most popular upgrades such as a stackable heel plate, dual/side adjusting hoop clamp, 101 2-way beater, built-in spurs, and lightweight aluminum pedal plates and linkages. Includes a custom-designed, injection-molded case with special compartments for pedals, beaters, and accessories.

  • Oh my god...

As reviewed by Richard on 5/9/2011

As you can see, pages of reviews could have been on this pedal. But basically, I'm going to sum up anything you need to know real quickly. Unless your playing deathcore and need to play 32nd notes at 250 BPM+ for 5 minutes per song, The DW 9000 is the ultimate pedal. Its control, speed, feel, and power, even with factory settings are unmatched by ANY other pedal on the market. Then the fact that every single aspect of the pedal can be adjusted to perfection and you have a pedal that is specific to however you want to play. So basically, unless you want to spend more money on a pedal that has the undeniable ability to play ridiculously fast double bass with no power, one inch from the kick head, go for it. But don't forget to include the cost of triggers, cause you'll need them too. Save yourself the time and frustration. GO DW!

  • LET IT FLY!

As reviewed by Michael on 4/13/2011

The DW9002 has to be the best pedal DW has made. I've played with DW double pedals for over 15 years and this one by far, is the best one I've had. It's very smoooth, very quick and both pedals are equal with regards to height, feel and reaction. None of this left pedal higher than the right, stiffer and less responsive, but all the adjustments available don't get them even. The pedal doesn't really need any adjustments out of the box, but I like a little tighter spring and it was sweet when I noticed that the spring tension nut sits into slots on the pivoting spring tension mount. A nice, easy way to count how many indexes to move the other spring. I would recommend that you purchase the pedal board weights if you're like me and want a lot of power to your bass drum......or......if you have pedal board weiths from another DW pedal, try them out. It gives a little more feel to the pedals. The pedals do feel quite "light". This pedal is worth every penny!

  • Ex-Iron Cobra Player

As reviewed by George G on 3/4/2011

My Iron Cobras have recently gone out of business, instead of replacing the drive shaft...I just bought the 9000's and HOLY CRAP, I SWEAR THESE ARE AMAZING. Only 2 problems really and this basically applies to every linked double pedal, the slave isnt as smooth and and it has a slower response. The universal joint DW gives you is a little on the heavier side, you can probably replace it with an Axis drive shaft which would solve the problem. The master pedal is so fluid and fast, as soon as you take your foot off it, it justs rocks back in forth, like a pendulum. Im going to buy a second bass drum for my performance series kit and just split these pedals into 2 seperate ones (WHICH YOU CAN DO WITH THESE), a feature that a few pedals, including the Iron Cobra, is lacking. If you have the money, gets these pedals, dont get Axis, from what I hear, they require a ton of maintenance and dont last too long and adjustments are hard to make on them because they use allen screws,
