DW 4002P Double Bass Drum Pedal

The 4002P is an amazing pedal. The movement on both sides is extremely smooth. The adjustablility of it makes it very easy to fit into any kit with out having to change the position of things like your snare and hi-hats. This is an overall great pedal and a great value. If you are looking to buy a double bass pedal, look no more, for you have found it.

Alright

Before you buy this pedal, realize that there's way better pedals out there by different brands for a little extra money. However, if you're a beginner looking to practice your footwork and BPM, I reccomend this pedal. But before you buy it, I'd like to warn you that the left pedal is stiff slightly, and you need a little extra force when pushing it down. But this one makes a great first double-bass for any aspiring metalist. Then again, for some extra money, get an Axis if this isin't your first double-bass.

I just dont like it

Granted my double bass skills are nothing special, this pedal just doesnt cut it. It feels like the beaters might way a pound each, also every time I strike the bass drum the beater flies back and hits me right in the shin. I dont know if i just play them wrong or what but there is a noticable lag in the reaction of the pedals. ive played other low budget double bass pedals and they perform much better. For me this pedal Truthfully plays like the low budget pedal that it is.

VERY DISAPOINTING

I got this pedal about 2 years ago and am very disapointed with it. On Pearl Eliminators and TAMA Iron Cobras,I can get up to anywhere between 270 and 290 BPM. But with these pedals, The highest I've gotten is 196 BPM! Even on the Lowest of spring tension, the pedal still feels pretty heavy and tight. The beater comes back and kicks you in the shin on almost every hit. Also, your left foot doesn't glide very smooth, and there's not much power at all. For any drummer that plays some type of Rock or Metal, don't get any of the DW's. Go with either the TAMA Iron Cobras or prefferably myself the PEARL Eliminators. They give alot more Power, Speed, plus they feel and glide much smoother.

Great Pedal for the Avg Drummer

This is an excellent pedal for the money. Ive had this pedal for a year and a half and never had a single problem. Its super tough, strong and very smooth. Its great for doing massive rolls or just accenting. Also, on the left pedal, there is no left bracket attaching the base to the axle where the chain is. This allows you to move your foot back and forth from the pedal to the hi-hat without bumping into anything.
