Overview

Lo-Rider stainless steel bass strings from DR are roundwound and constructed on a hexagonal core. Lo-Riders provide more depth of tone and are a bit stiffer than their Hi-Beam strings. Bass players who are into slapping, popping, and tapping will love the high end and depth of Lo-Riders. The slight bit of stiffness makes these strings very accurate when playing harmonics. Great consistency and great string-to-string balance are DR hallmarks. Fits scale lengths up to 37-3/4".

The Lo-Rider MH-45 Medium strings feature gauges 45-65-85-105.

Great strings

By Craig

from Redlands, California

Comments about DR Strings Lo-Rider MH-45 Stainless Steel Medium 4-String Bass Strings:

These were given to me by recommendation and I am quite content. The life of these strings are great, I replace them every 5-7 months and even then, they hold their tune and sharp tone. These give great definition especially on high notes. Compared to other strings (including other DRs) Lo-Riders are the best balance of quality and price. The tone isn't the greatest for music with more gain such as metal.

Great tone and feel

By James Nielsen

from Pensacola, FL

Comments about DR Strings Lo-Rider MH-45 Stainless Steel Medium 4-String Bass Strings:

Replaced my usual Rotosounds on my JB 24 with these, and I'm very happy. The tone has more bottom end without sacrificing the highs; more of a piano sound, which I like. The increased tension got rid of a problem with "clanking" that I was having; because of the increased tension, I did have to adjust the truss rod a little, though no big deal. They also had length adequate for my string-through body and 34" scale neck. Overall, very pleased- I will continue using these strings!

not a fan

By basssssssx

Comments about DR Strings Lo-Rider MH-45 Stainless Steel Medium 4-String Bass Strings:

well, i put these strings on as an experiment to try some different strings then my usual fat beams. I adjusted the action and played, but the strings are so stiff. It feels like playing a cold instrument in the early morning- not so good. Although my harmonics ringed out well on the strings but thats just about the only good thing about the strings-but maybe you prefer stiff strings, but i dont.
