Overview

DR NEONs are super bright color coated strings that sound clear, bright and musical. Players love the bright NEON colors and their remarkable sound. Super bright in daylight and under stage lighting, DR NEON is 100% black light reactive and glow strongly under UV lighting. NEONs are the first coated string to make no apologies. While Neons last as long as a coated string should (three to four times as long as uncoated strings) they sound as good, or better, than uncoated strings.

Comments about DR Strings Hi-Def NEON Red, White & Blue Electric Guitar Lite Strings:

These strings are very bright in color and have surprisingly good tone for a coated string. Tone isnt quite as bright as the visual effect but all together not to bad

Comments about DR Strings Hi-Def NEON Red, White & Blue Electric Guitar Lite Strings:

Bought these for a July 4th gig- they add a splash of color to my black Ibanez and sound great.
They are very bright in the sunlight and my favorite of the colors is the blue. Eventually the coating does come off where you pick but they still sound fine. Now if I could get our bass player to try them!

They LOOK good on my Stars and Bars LP, but they're pretty cheap strings.

Comments about DR Strings Hi-Def NEON Red, White & Blue Electric Guitar Lite Strings:

I received a damaged string, and contacted DR customer service. I haven't even received a response in two weeks, which demonstrates how unimportant we are. In this day and age, where online retail is more important then ever, this is unacceptable. This is NOT a reflection on Guitar Center, which always takes good care of me. Ultimately, these strings are a cheesy gimmick that will hopefully fade out. If you want quality coated-strings, try Elixir. I've been playing/collecting new and vintage guitars for 26 years, and regularly try new strings. I noticed that if these strings contact the bridge when re-stringing, the color will chip off immediately. Secondly, they feel like dull plastic. This feels like your fingers are dragging, and seems "cheap". Thirdly, I had to adjust all the pickup heights on the low-E, as the heavier strings sound completely dull and lifeless.

Comments about DR Strings Hi-Def NEON Red, White & Blue Electric Guitar Lite Strings:

I put these strings on my strat. Out of the box the colors are very vivid and and it was nice to have something different. The Low E in my set was hot pink though, not red. The A string was Red and you could tell a big difference. The tone was great for the first two days, then the low E went dead on the third day. The coating and color was chipping off the high B and E strings by the third day also. The tone wasn't bad, excluding the dead low E of course. Overall though, I can't recommend these to anyone. Did not last at all and after a week all the tone was gone, as well as most of the colored coating on the strings.
