Overview

The NEON series isn't just about the look. They are great sounding, long-lasting, and meet all of the criterea required to be welcomed into the DR family of products. These are light guage electric strings, .009, .011, .016, .024, .032, .042.

DR NEONs„¢ are super bright color-coated strings that sound clear, bright and musical. Players love the bright NEON„¢ colors and their remarkable sound. Super bright in daylight and under stage lighting, DR NEON„¢ is 100% black light reactive and glow strongly under UV lighting. NEONs are the first coated string to make no apologies. While Neons last as long as a coated string should (three to four times as long as uncoated strings) they sound as good, or better, than uncoated strings.

Comments about DR Strings Hi-Def NEON Multi-Color Light Electric Guitar Strings (9-42) 2 Pack:

Look great on ebony, rosewood fretboards; adds some nice colors.
Do not last as long as cobalts or slinkys but are much easier on the fingers for practice.
At the price of 2 packs for less than 11 dollars they cannot be beat.
DR makes great strings and the only problem with the Neons is their ability to wear out fairly quickly.

Comments about DR Strings Hi-Def NEON Multi-Color Light Electric Guitar Strings (9-42) 2 Pack:

I bought these for the kids, who are learning their way around the fretboard and playing Rocksmith. The colors match the Rocksmith scheme. It also helps a lot when trying to tell them what note we're aiming at.

The paint does wear off a little but not so much that you can't identify colors.

Get these, but do the *medium* strings, particularly if you're using a kids' guitar. These light ones are either too fragile for beginners or for short necks. I broke the high E just installing it on a Squier mini, and the G broke a week later. THe medium set I got for myself did not break after multiple bending drills. Rocksmith makes you retune your guitar constantly and these super light strings don't seem to like that. Fortunately, a 2 pack means spare strings on hand.
