Overview

The Dimebag Darrell signature Hi-Voltage electric guitar strings stay in tune and remain bright and fresh for a long time. DR Hi-Voltages are made for string bends, whammy-bar dives, harmonic screams, and chunky riffs.

"I've been playin' the strings of strength since 1995. I like the way DR Strings feel and react, you can really get a grip on them. They're great for everything, from big ol' string bends, to huge whammy bar dives, perfect for blood curdling harmonic screams and just straight out heavy chunky riffin'. They also stay in perfect tune and remain fresh and bright for an amazingly long time" said Dimebag.

I have not had a good expereince with these strings. After putting them on and playing, the 6th string broke within 4 days, i would not advise spending the money for these strings. Let us not forget Dimebag Darrel , who will live in our heavy metal hearts forever. However, i would recommend ernie ball slinkys, who have lasted me months on end, more than these strings have.

Been buying these strings for nearly four years.

By Marc

Not one has ever broken. It takes about 4-7 months for them to dull depending on how often and how hard you play (I'm a metal head). When you put the strings on, it only takes once stretch to lock them in tune (I use a fixed bridge) and after that, there's not much that will get them OUT of tune. This particular gauge will work great for just about any tuning besides baritone. I've played these in Standard, Drop-D, Eb Standard, D Standard, Drop-C, C Standard, and even Drop-B, and they work amazingly for all of them. No muddiness at ALL, period. I've tried other brands- Ernie Ball, Dunlop, Rotosound, GHS Boomers, but none compare. I'm always sad when I don't have these on my axe... These strings are slick and easy to pull of ANY technique on, be it harmonics, divebombs, tremolo picking, tapping, double-hand tapping, etc. I can literally bend 3 steps up the scale and stay in tune. nearly an octave if i'm tuned low. Don't bother with any other strings, go with the DR Dimebags. Even if you aren't a fan of Darrell or Pantera, these strings win against all else. They're good for any style of music too. AMAZING metal, outstanding cleans for jazz, nice crunch for classic rock. Anything you can play, these strings will keep up. Better grab these for live use, since they won't break, even if you tie them to the bumpers of two cars going the opposite direction. ;)

THE BEST STRINGS YOU CAN BUY

By jr santana

from dinuba ca.

these strings are honestly the best you can get they super long lasting stay in tune no matter how many dive bombs or sick bends you do and to make them better ive had the same strings on for about a month now just curious how long they can go and i was in a car crash and the car rolled and my guitar luckily wasnt really damaged so i was happy that atleast my guitar didnt break but i was amazed when i strumed a chord the strings stayed in perfect tune even after a car crash if that doesnt convince you these strings are the best i dont know what will

A great way to shop and save money

By Suasn

DR strings have more longevity, and sound better than most other strings I have played with. Ordering them online was great too, because I knew they were in stock, and they shipped right away which saved me money in gas.

Best Strings Ever.

By Angry Box Of Death

from Grantville PA

Everyone knows that the strings make a big difference when playing guitar. I have played D'Addario strings for like 2 years and realized they really weren't cutting it for the style of music I play. I discovered these strings like 6 months ago when I borrowed my band mates guitar. He had known about these strings for a while and he gave me a pack. I went home changed my strings and the feel of these strings impressed me plus they sound great for metal. They last forever and they dont rust. The only reason i didnt give value a 5 is because the cost like 3 bucks more than D'Addario but i guess it worth it because they play great .
