Drop-down tuning bass guitar strings that go right into tune and lock in.

The first thing you notice with DR Drop-Down Tuning Bass strings is how stable they are. DDT strings maintain their intonation at lower tunings far better than other strings you may have played or heard. Players say these bass strings are so stable it is almost eerie.

Now you can "stand and deliver" in-tune notes at lower pitches that are clean and clear-plus you can drop tune with confidence and accuracy. You'll be surprised how few adjustments you'll make to change tunings and will be even more surprised how well DR Drop-Down Tuning strings lock into tune. DR

Experienced players comment: "Tuned down, I was never able to play a favorite riff. It always came out muddy and garbled. Now it is crystal clear. I am going to record it and give it to my bandmates, who could not hear it before."

DR DDT strings deliver far more than just heavy gauges-they deliver impeccable bass tone.

Heavy gauges: 55-75-95-115.

  • Best strings for anything Metal

As reviewed by Greg Franks on 3/2/2011

I'm currently using these DR DDT's on my modded Ibanez Gio with Seymour Duncans, i've heard people who have been playin guitar and bass for years say that strings are strings, DR has prooved them wrong, i used these strings at band practice and a show, and the bright end, punch, and low end all cut through, me and my band are extremely impressed with these strings. I play in Drop C, and they didnt go out tune even after heavy/fast finger picking with slapping and popping like crazy. I have used other strings, and these are by far the best for playing drop tuning music, especially Metal. If you play Heavy music in dropped tuning, buy these strings, you won't regret it.

  • Best String for Down Tuning

As reviewed by Matthew on 7/15/2011

I bought a set of these strings a few weeks ago. A little background, I have been playing bass for a number of years, essentially graduated with a B.A. in Music, and given a few lessons. Long story short, I have sworn by DR since I first purchased a high end bass, that being a Spector Euro 4 LX, the only string I ever played on was the High Beams, even in a rock/pop type band sounded excellent. I always had an affinity for metal and the last year and a half I've been in a group that plays C,G,C,F (Drop C). Being the tone junkie I am, I've consistently searched for the best string for my new set up. Fender Aerodyne Bass with Seymour Duncan bassline P & J pickups. Amp set up: Ampeg SVT-Pro 3. I've played through heaviest gauges of Ernie Ball, been through D'Addario, just to try new things out. Then DR released these strings, I ordered them when the first came out and it took my local store (closest G.C. is 1 hour away) a bit to get them in. When they did, from the moment I strapped them on I knew these were the ones. From the first note I noticed that there was no "slack" in the string from low tuning. It was real tense and firm that had great sustain to carry the low frequencies yet they allowed them to cut through on the high end without sounding to "Bright" Like a high beam would normally. I even convinced our guitar player to switch over to them and he has blown away by the output of the guitar. If you want a good heavy sound without sacrificing overall tone, I highly recommend the selection of these strings. As long as I'm involved in a metal group, I will be purchasing these strings. Even if you don't play "Drop C" I tuned a to standard and Drop D as well and these strings still sounded great. Even have a "natural growl" to them as I like to say.

  • Bangin strings

As reviewed by DentingLeopard on 4/22/2011

So I have a 5 string squier jazz bass and they obviously don't have a 5 string so I got a 135 for my B string and they sound amazeing in standard and dropped. I use these on my 5 string and E.B. Super slinky on 4 string and I love them both the only down side to the DDT is in standard tuneing they have alot of tension in it (some people like that but thats just me and not faulting DR they obviously wernt made for standard hence the name). I highly recomend this for any one who plays Gospel,Rock slipknot, trivium, slayer, metallica etc... Even gospel I play at my church an they sound great also they have good sustain wich I love and the chords explode and when your playing a melodic rythm they notes almost glow so in a nut shell standard or dropped there great buy, buy, buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
