I got these strings as a last chance for my firs bass (a squire p bass)that i was planning to just get rid of since it got little play time compared to my better basses. I slapped them on thinking at the very least they'd at least make the old bass look cool as it sat in my corner. They did that and much more. I put them on and all of a sudden my sound on that bass was made 10x better. The highs were crisp, the lows were booming, and the fretboard felt faster. It the bass feel like a whole new instrument. Mix the strings great tone with the awesome look of the blue and they almost make me want to bring my squire out at a gig for a song or two, something i would have never dreamed of before. I've also since switched to DR strings on my other basses and i couldnt be happier.
I picked up these strings a few weeks ago and I couldn't wait to try them on. They look so cool (hence cool blue) and they are very noticable against my dark fret board and black bass. Plus, they feel real nice when you play them, but they sound bright at first. All in all, I love these strings' sound and everything else. I might even get the red ones and alternate the colors between blue and red. Patriotic.
I bought these strings because they look really cool. They are not as bright sounding as most strings due to the coating. They also seem lighter than other strings of the same gauge. I needed to have my bass set up again after changing to these because I was getting a lot of fret buzz.I will not buy these again.
