  i first noticed these strings because of their black color, very cool!so i tried a set. they feel different than any other string right from the start...then as i played them, i loved them! they have stayed brighter much longer than any other brand ive tried(and playing bass for over 20 yrs.almost every week, ive tried em all) best set of strings ive ever used!

• Some great strings

  Black Beauties -- the perfect string. I like DRs anyway, very clear, but a good low end. Black Beauties are even better than their normal strings, so the coating must do something. Not to mention how amazing they look on a black bass. Saddly the color goes away pretty quickly (at least they do when you hit the strings as hard as I do). They seem to be more reactive to an Ebow, but that may be DRs in general. Great strings, my favorite for any type of music.

• Nice strings to start with

  I bought these strings and they sound great, I have had them for 3 weeks now and the black color is wore off the stings were i strike them with my fingers. that is a real let down since they looked so nice to start. I figured they would look like this at 3 months not 3 weeks. they still sound good though.
