This thing was awesome the first 2 weeks I used it. But over a short period of time, the grip inside the pole became too worn and no longer will support the weight up a microphone without sliding all the way down. Now it is useless unless you plan on holding it upright the entire time. The quick release function is a good thought, but it just gets too loose really quick and then becomes a waste of money.

Plastic Trigger Handle Sticky After 6 Months...Bleah

Comments about DR Pro Quick Release Round Base Microphone Stand:

I bought this at Guitar Center last summer and I loved it initially--the quick adjust makes it easy to use for multiple speakers. However, after six months the plastic squeeze-trigger is sticky like plastic is sticky when it degenerates after a few years. I don't know why the plastic is rotting so quickly, but now the thing's pretty useless since you have to wash your hands right after you touch it. Great idea, lousy materials.

Comments about DR Pro Quick Release Round Base Microphone Stand:

Bought this stand because I wanted easily adjustable & a stand tall enough for me to use without bending down to it (I'm 6'3"). It does meet those qualities, BUT unfortunately, after only 2 uses, the quick release mechanism no longer firmly holds the mic at the height you set. The slightest pressure causes it to move down again.

From the moment I bought this stand, it would not hold the weight of a microphone. Just finished chatting with Guitar Center online. Theres a 45 day return policy of this stand! Mine's going back today and never getting this again..

Works for a while, then the weight of the mic causes the stand to fall. Won't stay up where you put it. Wobbles. In short - unreliable, poorly made

Comments about DR Pro Quick Release Round Base Microphone Stand:

I have never had good experiences with easy adjust mic stands. They work great out of the box and generally a few weeks later can't stay up any longer. I am quite impressed with the tripod stand DRPro makes so thought I'd try their version out. Same experience. Works great out of the box, but now only works well if you want to hold it up in the air or you are only 3' tall. It will not stay at up. Just slides right back down. Definitely not worth the money especially when you buy 4 of them like I did. Now I get to replace 4 expensive mic stands. They do well holding the door open for load in still though...

                  Nice idea, not very durable

Comments about DR Pro Quick Release Round Base Microphone Stand:

Other reviewers mentioned the connection to the base, I didn't have a problem with that. My problem is the mechanism that moves and holds the top in place. It broke the first night I used it. Now it won't stay where you put it, it just falls down to the bottom. The quality was not what I expected, especially at the price.

Comments about DR Pro Quick Release Round Base Microphone Stand:

It worked fine for me as a drummer for a few months. It fit in the small spaces I had available. It was very stable. Solid adjustments. But, like another reviewer, it broke at the base threads because the outside pipe wall is way too thin. I won't buy another.

                  ... product that will break

Comments about DR Pro Quick Release Round Base Microphone Stand:

Just had one of mine break after accidentally dropping it base first while unloading at a gig. Very clean break of the threaded portion of the stand rod where it attaches to the base. This is the thinnest part of the rod because of the thread. Some heavier material here might have avoided this. However, I think I can repair it using a 1/2 inch copper pipe coupling and some KwikWeld epoxy to bind the two back together. I'll also use this method to re-enforce my other three DR mic stands BEFORE they get broken.
