Overview

Gauges: 13-17-26-35-45-56.

EXP12 Coated strings provide longer life and increased durability coupled with the brightness, clarity and sensitivity you've come to expect from D'Addario acoustic guitar strings. An ultrafine layer of EXP coating is bonded to the phosphor bronze wrap wire which is then wound onto the hex-shaped core wire. The result is a built-in barrier against the corrosion and wear that can quickly sap the life out of your strings and your sound. And since the EXP coating is cross-linked to the wrap wire prior to winding, the strings sound fresh and bright. New-string tone lasts 3 to 4 times longer than traditional guitar strings.

D'Addario is the world's largest manufacturer of strings for musical instruments. Many top guitarists won't play any other brand. Regardless of your playing style, D'Addario has a set that's right for you.

Best thing ever.

Comments about D'Addario EXP12 Coated 80/20 Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

these strings are the best, its cheap and affordable, great tone and long lasting. i have a Ibanez PF5 series its not that expensive and not the best guitar, i bought these strings back in summer August 2010, it has the greatest sound on this guitar and im sure even better on more expensive guitars like a taylor or martin. its now February 2011 and i still have it on my guitar, i bought some new coated Elixir polyweb strings like 3 months ago thinking that i should change the strings to the elixir but i didnt change it yet because the D'Addario still sounds amazing, and it seems like these strings, the longer it stays on the guitar the better the sound and tone breaks in. it never gets old. everything you read in the description about this string on guitar center's web sit is all true. the coatings really is better and one more thing is it doesn't rust. i highly recommend this product to anyone who loves guitar and for both beginners to advance. its the best.

Sounds Good To Me

By Cliff Rhodenizer

from Roswell, GA

Comments about D'Addario EXP12 Coated 80/20 Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I use these on both my 2013 Taylor 716ce, and my 1989 Taylor 410. Both setup for medium strings and have a big bold sound that really rings nice with Elixir Nanowebs, which is what I had been using. At about $4 less per pack, I decided to try these EXP's and have been satisfied. The sound has a slightly different character to it, but I can't say that it's any better or worse than the Elixir. It's just a little different. Still sounds pretty good to me. If they were the same price as Elixir's, I would probably rotate between the two each time I change strings until I develop a preference for one over the other. But at $4 cheaper, I'll stay with EXP for a while.

Was good while it lasted

By Elijah Sajia

from Murrieta, Ca

Comments about D'Addario EXP12 Coated 80/20 Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

Whenever I buy these strings, they sound amazing and I am convinced that these will be the ones I stick to... until they get dull about a week later. Every time I'm disappointed, but maybe it could be because of my cheap Mitchell, but the Martins, DR's, and Elixirs I buy last significantly longer than these.
