I have used D'Addario strings for years. They are the only strings I let near any of my guitars, whether they be Gretsch, Fender, or Gibson. They have better tone and much better durability than any other brand of strings I've ever tried. I usually use them for about 3 months of heavy usage before my zombie skin chokes out the tone. I mainly play Texas-blues style hard rock, and it includes huge (2+ step) bends and me picking much harder than I should. In 10 years of using D'Addario's, I've had one break on me, and it was 6 months old. The other day, I found a pack that had been in storage with a Jackson I never use for 5 years, and I put them on my Strat. They were just as good as a fresh pack! If you're thinking about buying a set of D'Addario's, do it. You won't regret ;).

The strings do not bend anywhere near as easily as Ernie Ball strings of the same gauge. Not only that, but the break more easily. I had one break after only two months just on a full-step bend. I was very disappointed, especially because my guitar has a Floyd Rose tremolo. Also, the strings don't feel or nice or have as much sustain as the Ernie Balls, compared side to side on nearly identical guitars (Schecter syn Custom and Hellraiser C-1 FR). Just go with the Ernie Balls. They go on sale quite often, and are better in every aspect.

Consistency, Feel, Sound, Durability

By DesecratorOfSouls

from San Antonio, Texas

Before I go into detail, I would like to first start off by saying that these are the best strings on the market today. As my title states there are 4 things that every string needs. Consistency: I have never had any problems with these strings. They are always fresh out of the pack and never have any dents in them. Feel: these strings feel like they are made out of the finest string material available. Sound: These strings produce a full, round tone that is just amazing. They really cut through on leads and sound so crisp and sharp. For rhythm playing, I would describe the sound as lots of low end bass, just enough mids, and singing highs. Durability: they last for ever. They never break when you put them on unlike some other brands like Ernie Ball. They do not rust in the first 2 days of playing unlike again Ernie Ball. Overall, these are my favorite strings and should be your favorite too.

Wonderful Strings!!!

By MegadethFan

from Portsmouth,VA

When i walked into Guitar Center i was looking for some cheap, and durable strings with good tone. When i walked out i had these awesome strings that met my standards and more! These strings have great tone and last forever i have had my strings on for two months and they still haven't broken. Also they aren't dull or flat they still sound like they are fresh out of the box. My advice is to buy these strings if you are looking for a high quality string that will make you rock 10x harder.

Average Strings

By Jose

from South Bend, Indiana

I bought these strings looking for something other than Ernie Ball or Dean Markely. These strings had pros and cons to them. One of the pros is that these strings have so much more tone that Ernie Ball strings after playing them for a long time. But the cons were that they untuned very easily. I found myself tuning the guitar twice a day. Another problem I had with these strings was that the strings don't come in little baggies like the Ernie's. I was happy with these strings, but I wasn't impressed. Great tone, though.

The Only Strings I'll Use

By Jeff

from Midwest

I've been playing for over 30 years. I can't remember when I first started using these strings, but I've tried many different brands and these are the best. They last, sound great, and are reasonably priced. I have two Strats, two Teles, a PRS Custom 22, and a Gibson LP Custom. They're all strung with D'Addarios strings. I use their acoustic guitar strings too.

Best Strings Money Can Buy

By Imbo

from GC, NY

I love these strings. I have used these strings everytime I string my guitar back up. They never break. They corrode pretty fast but thats what happens to most when you play a lot. I have tried many other sets but these are the best. I dont play a gig without these. Best strings money can buy. Worth EVERY cent.
