Overview

D'Addario Chrome Extra Light Electric Guitar Strings are revered for their warm tone and ultra-smooth feel. Stainless steel underwindings on hex cores build a foundation for the delicate outer ribbon winding. After the winding is applied, each string goes through 3 polishing steps. Great for classic jazz tone and rockabilly twang.

D'Addario's environment-friendly string packaging does away with the nylon plastic outer envelope, paper insert, and paper envelopes for each string. The strings come inside a 100% recyclable cardboard package that inhibits string corrosion.

D'Addario environmental string sets are now being made with new, brighter colored ball ends. The colored ball ends are specially coated with a new paint (green, red, purple...) that is easily recognizable and makes it even easier for you to identify each string.

I use D'Addario flat wounds on all my guitars. Acoustics 11-50's, Electrics 10-48. They are smooth and silent. Great for recording and very comfortable on the fingers for practicing and for those 4 hour gigs. They are bright stainless steel and cure any acid finger issues. The 10-48's have a wrapped 20 gauge which is as light as flat wounds get on the 3rd string. They last anywhere from 3 to 6 months between string changes. Never had on break yet! These are half the price of Thomastik's and perform just as well IMHO..If you like Flatwounds as much as I do, these are the best deal out there...

Slick Strings

Comments about D'Addario ECG23 Chrome Extra Light Electric Guitar Strings:

I have used these for quite a while and they are great for Jazz or old rock. They have that smooth rounded tone... Of course being a flat wound they are dead quite during movement and for me they seem to last longer than normal strings...Try em

A'ddario ECG23

Comments about D'Addario ECG23 Chrome Extra Light Electric Guitar Strings:

After reading a interview with Kenny Vaughn, Maty Stuart's guitar player saying he uses Addario Chrome flatwounds. I like 10 gauge strings, so I ordered the ECG23 strings. The work great on my Tele with Texas specal PUP and 52 Tele style saddles. Also, the intonation is greatly improved with the would 3rd string. I would recommend these strings to anyone. P.S. I still get the Tele Twang with these strings and can get great sounding Jazz and blues.

pretty neat

Comments about D'Addario ECG23 Chrome Extra Light Electric Guitar Strings:

these strings sound pretty good overall, good jazzy, somewhat straty tone, they were good all in all but the only problem was they were a bit hard to bend because of the flat wound part, and also the wound 3rd string good if your playing jazz, not styles that you have to bend

I tried a lot of other makes and gauges and found these best suited for the Gretsch 6120-1960, Brian Setzer model outfitted with TV Jones pick ups!!

Great strings! These Chrome flat-wounds provide a great sound while eliminating string noise as you move up and down the neck.

Comments about D'Addario ECG23 Chrome Extra Light Electric Guitar Strings:

I play rhythm guitar in a 60's cover band. I have these on my american vintage replica 59 strat. I love the way they sound. I just wish they carried them in the store as my son got me a string of the month card for Christmas and I can't use it since it is in store only. That said, these strings have great tone and hold up really well. I should probably change them more often than I do but I have a hard time pulling them off when they still sound great.

              smooth and noiseless

Comments about D'Addario ECG23 Chrome Extra Light Electric Guitar Strings:

Glad I found these in 10s. I made my own from 11s by moving them all down and purchasing a single 10 but that is not ideal. The 10s give me the bendability and the noiseless sound that I wanted.
