Reduced Noise

By Rob

from Denver

I have pedals from the early 90's - and patch and instrument cables to match. Since then, I've been playing through multi-effects units so had no need for the pedals. I've picked up a great digitech jam-man looper with delay, which is stero. I am using the digitech rp250 as just a compressor and volume pedal. I have a pedal board from a friend and started plugging my old pedals back in and am loving it! The pedal board has a patch module where the pedals plug in and has a stero send/return - so I needed 6 cables between 1 and 2 1/2 ft for my setup. They only seem to have 1 and 3ft cable available and I didn't want to get all 3ft cbls for this because of the sloppiness if the extra cable. I ended up getting the kit at the store with 10 ft of cable and 10 right angle plugs. I was able to make my 5 cables to the proper length and it is sooo much quiter! I don't have other cables to compare it to besides the old patch cables and extra long old instrument cables I had laying around that I used to see if the whole stero setup would work - so maybe other new cables would be just as good. I really liked being able to size these to just what I need for this board. Plus the tips are gunmetal and gold, so they look cool too!

Not the best design

By J. Williams

from Elkhart, IN

I have a pedal board running between7 to 10 pedals, depending on which ones I'm feeling at the moment, and have always used George L's. I needed to buy some more patch cables because I wanted to add a couple of pedals so I thought I'd try these. Planet Waves makes great stuff and hey they look cool with the smokey gunmetal finish. To start with the positives, the kit comes with a cord cutter and assembles with no soldering, etc. Works great just as advertised. The problems I ran into when compared to George L's is that the connectors are too bulky and the cable is too stiff. Sometimes the angle of the plug would lay across and block my AC connection jack on some pedals. It's hard to make short connections with these cables. The George L's in comparison have very small jacks and small very flexible cable.
