I picked up this strap at my local GC a few months ago. I've used it several times times on stage (I'm a worship leader) and it hasn't failed me yet. I've used it with a few types of electric guitars and it fits great! I generally wear my guitar kinda low too. My only problems have been when I used it with my SG because of the placement of the strap pegs. The only difference with the SG is that you'll have a slight twist in the strap, but hey, it's an all black strap so no one will even notice! (Worked great with my Tele though)All in all this a great deal! I wouldn't recomend it if all you own is an SG though.

I've had this strap for about a year. I've been using it on my 2013 Gibson Les Paul Standard. I bought it because I didn't want to put strap locks on my new LP. The first thing I noticed when I put the strap on is that the LP's strap buttons are slightly smaller than my other guitars, but after testing it a bit I felt comfortable to leave it on. The strap has a softer, rubbery material that sits against the guitar where it connects to the strap buttons on the guitar. It began to rub on the guitar after a month or two, which left dark marks on my guitar as well as slowly wearing out the strap. On top of that I was playing recently and the lock on the strap popped off and I just barely caught the guitar. After some inspection the strap itself is cracked and broken. Overall, I liked the strap pretty well, but after a few months it began to tear up. Don't suggest this for Les Pauls. I'll post the pictures of my strap and the problems with it on the item page as well.

Great strap, but...

By Buck

from W@arner Robins, GA

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

The design of the strap is excellent and it works as advertised. The materials and construction are good and the ease of use is great. However, if you have a PRS or any other guitar with large strap buttons, it will not fit. Recommend Planet waves redesign the strap locks to accomodate the larger strap buttons and they would have a hands down winner.

These straps are amazing, They lock on in seconds and after that they wont even move, My only problem is that they are pretty short and im a green day fan and so i love playing the guitar very low where i can pound it but thats the only problem. Good for the price, You should really try it out!

Locking guitar strap

By David

from Tyler, Texas

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

This product works as advertised. I bought this guitar strap after catching my guitar before it hit the floor while performing. The locking mechanism works really well although it is difficult to remove. The strap could use a shoulder pad on it to help with the comfort but is a great value for the money.

End pin size not mentioned

By j t

from LR, CA.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

It doesn't fit on my guitar's existing end pins (strap buttons) on my electric acoustic guitar. I need a strap that will fit over a larger end pin on the bottom where my guitar plugs in. Something I didn't think of when I bought it and that wasn't mentioned in the detail when I read about it on line.

Doesn't fit

By Mallory

from Janesville, WI

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

I tried to put this product on a Taylor GS and it doesn't fit the built in end pins that came on the guitar. Very disappointing. I will be returning it for a plain regular old guitar strap

Good idea, flawed execution

By Russ

from Arlington, VA

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

The locking mechanism on this is cleverly designed and works well. I bought this for use with a bass, however, and since there is zero padding (and forget about sliding padding onto the strap since the locks are so wide you can't pull anything past it) and the strap is made from the same harsh nylon weave as most average straps, I find it rather uncomfortable for anything more than a modest amount of play time. Also, if you shift around a bit the locks will occasionally pop into a different position causing the whole instrument to vibrate despite the soft padding on the bottom of the locks which is.... bad. It's not too frequent but too frequent for my liking. This would probably fare better with a guitar instead of a bass but that's not what I need it for. I may try to modify it to have decent padding or just replace it altogether.

A good Guitar Strap

By Joel

from Villages, FL

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

I purchased 2 of these and they work just great. I noticed that my old guitar straps were starting to wear and come loose. I had a Bass guitar slip once and hit the floor, what a terrible and expensive mishap. These should prevent that kind of issue from happening again. Well worth the price. It has reasonable comfort and lays well, so I don't see any issues with it. Quite satisfied.

Great Product and Great Customer Support

By Steve Keele

from Payson, Utah

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

I was tired of straps that kept falling off as I was playing. I found this strap at a local guitar shop. I love that it fits perfectly on my Fender Jazz. I've owned mine for a year or so when playing a gig the plastic adjustment piece broke. I emailed the company for a replacement piece. They told me to send the whole strap in. Upon their recieving my strap they immediatly sent a replacement. It's a great product and great customer support.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

This is quite possibly the best idea ever. I used to have a problem keeping my old strap on the guitar wherever I went, with this strap i no longer have that problem. I would highly recommend purchasing this strap.

These straps are great. I really was tired of normal straps not staying attached to my guitars. The ratchet style ends are very easy to use. Great product!!

Great strap But

By Art Rice

from Largo, Fl

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

I won one of these from D'Addario and figured that I would give it a shot. I really like it. What I do worry about is undue wear on the guitar's finish from the plastic clips. Only time will tell I guess.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

This strap is so cool. I used to replace all my strap pegs with Dunlop Push Button Locks. But now i don't have to. This strap and locking system is brilliant and works perfectly! You really have to see it to believe it. Planet Waves has become my favorite company for innovative musical design.

Does not work well for acoustic

By Kaleb Curl

from Monroe, Georgia

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

I bought this strap primarily to use for playing acoustic guitar at church. I was excited when I bought it, thinking I had gotten a great deal on a really cool guitar strap that would for the most part guarantee that the strap would not come loose or fall off. Well, I'm sure it works fine for that.. But only with an electric guitar. I have a Takamine with a regular end pin, and another pin screwed in where the body and neck are joined together. The strap did not fit on either of the two pins. I tried to make it work, but there is so much plastic encasing the mechanism at the end of the strap, it doesn't allow for room to fit on smaller pins. I then tried it on my other acoustic, and again, it did not fit.. But this time, it not only didn't fit, but scratched the bottom end of the body. However, I tried it on one of the electric guitars and it worked okay. There wasn't really much room to tilt the guitar without it feeling like the strap was stuck to it. This strap is completely overrated and needs to be redesigned to work better for acoustic guitars.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

Well made strap, and I like the locking concept. However, because of the rigid buckle it won't work on a Taylor acoustic or other guitar for which the strap button is on the underside of the neck heal.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

This is a good idea...it should be better than the plastic bread bag tie that I've been using to lock the strap on my guitar. Unfortunately, I can't get the locking part of the strap to close around the buttons on my guitar. I think a little more work needs to be done before I will be able to use the locking strap in the manner that it is intended.
