  • Pretty good

As reviewed by Jeff on 7/17/2009

I put these in my Mitchell to add sustain and I figured they'd look better then my plastic pins. The only problem I had with these is they didn't fit snuggly into the bridge. They weren't big enough to hold the string in, so when I tuned the string the pins would fly out. Right now they're kinda crooked but they work and sound great.

  • A Terrific Investment

As reviewed by J.Hetrick on 3/19/2010

I purchased these when I saw that my new Ibanez came with plastic bridge pins. The D'Andrea pins are smaller than the pins that came with my instrument (AEG20E), but if they are held in place while tightening the strings, they stay in just fine afterwards. As for aesthetics, there really isn't any competition with the abalone/brass combination; it really compliments the sunburst design. Being a new player, I feel a little unqualified to opine on the tone quality, but I think it says something for the pins that even I can hear a distinct improvement in the sound. These pins are absolutely worth their price tag.

  • Purely Subjective

As reviewed by Neever on 3/27/2007

I finally decided to go with the brass. The biggest benefit: They won't break as easily. As far as tonality is concerned, I think it might vary from guitar to guitar. On my acoustic, the pins definitely increased the bass and somewhat alleviated a dead fret problem (F on the 5th string - standard tuning.) On the other hand, the pins robbed some of the highs and quieted the guitar down just a bit. On the whole, I am satisfied with these subtle changes in tone. I'm going to switch from Ivory to brass depending upon the situation. (I mostly use the guitar for recording.)
