The D'Addario J5403 Aluminum Wound String is designed for optimum use on a tenor ukulele.
I find that after playing a few months, my original wound C string will wear out, but the other strings are fine for another couple months of playing. I like to buy a single wound string to revitalize my Tenor, and replace the whole set further down the line. I also like to add a wound string to the Pro Arte set (no wound strings included) to spice things up a bit.
