I love the strings. I've alwas used D'Addario Strings and love them. Since I have not used any strings but these are good quality strings and they are a great value! Don't ware out very fast.
These strings are great for the value, whether you are a beginner or advanced. They hold up to constant use, last pretty long, and hold their tone for quite a while. I change them every month and a half. High recommended!
Years ago, when I first started playing guitar, the string I started with were D'Addario XL nickel strings. They had a nice feel to them, didn't snap all the time like other strings I had used, and most importantly they were cheap. To me, they were a gateway drug, allowing me to learn to play without the guitar constantly going out of tune or breaking, and hooking me so I would try better and more specialized D'Addario products. However, even still, I enjoy these strings, for being something quality when I am looking for the best bang for my buck. Needing some cheap strings to practice with? Just starting out and not sure what to go with? Look no further. My only complaint with these strings, and its something inherent to all round wrap strings, is that after long sessions of play, they do quite a number on your fingers. Nothing quite like wearing through a callus. Again, not something specific to these strings.
