  • Love these strings!

    I put these tapewounds on my 62RI Jazz bass, hoping for an earthier tone, not necessarily an upright bass sound, but less metallic and woodier, if that makes sense. Mission accomplished! These are fantastic sounding strings. They play almost as smooth as flatwounds and sound fantastic on the J bass. My music is Americana with a bit of Celtic influence and these nail the bass tones I'm wanting. Can't wait to put a set on my P bass too!

  • GIVE'M A TRY!

    I guess by them being marked down so much, they may not be a popular item. I prefer the sound and feel flatwounds and do have a bass with roundwounds, but I wanted to experiment and put these tapewounds on my acoustic/electric to hopefully get the deeper, upright sound. LOVE THEM! My comment is this: If you normally purchase long scale strings, these will initially appear to be way too short. I was very upset when I first started to set them up, but, patience and an extra couple of hands to help will be worth it. It took SEVERAL tunings before they really stretched out, stayed in tune and settled to a comfortable action....An initial buzz on the lower end gradually disappeared with each tuning. I chose this brand because of the price reduction but mostly because I wanted the lighter gauge that only D'Adds offered. GIVE'M A TRY!
