  • No better metal

I first tried these on a BC Rich Mockingbird I used to have because I needed strings that were big enough to give me lower tunings and were bright enough to add more volume and detail. I liked them so much that they were my first pick to restring my Schecter T-7. They aren't for everyone or every style, but these will add a razor-sharp, glistening steel bite to any guitar that's used for heavy styles and they'll stand up to a steel pick like a brick house in a hurricane. I won't use anything else on a 7-string.

  • Get these if you want serious tone!

As reviewed by zurgous on 4/20/2009

I just got the D'Addario ProSteels Jazz Mediums. Even if you don't end up with 13 gauge (I detune to C) the prosteels are worth it. I've had these for a few weeks now and they sound warmer, brighter, and fuller than any strings I've used. The highs especially sound clean. Not shrill at all. The only downside is they feel sticky but that goes away after a few days. Small price to pay for amazing tone.

  • Blues purist, Heavy Metal, Rock....

These strings are for those guys who want to tune low, play Pride and Joy, or who just downright pick hard on their guitars! I used these because they I really play hard on strings, they give a very FAT sound with a lot of definition and get that much closer to sounding like Stevie Ray Vaughan. Definitely recommended for people who tune low, whether it's drop C or G# these strings won't go flabby on you. Only reason I don't play these more often is that my local store only had one set in stock, and I got the last one.
