Built-in soft rubber cup. New formula (glass-nylon-teflon). One-year warranty.

I'VE BEEN USEING THEM FOR ABOUT 5 YRS. I AGREE, AT FIRST IT TAKES ALITTLE GETTING USED TO,BUT ONCE YOU BREAK THEM IN THEY'RE GREAT. NO FELTS NO WING NUTS. EASY TO SET UP EASY TO BREAK DOWN !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE EM. I PLAY EVERY WEEK.PROBABLY USED THEM ON TWO TO THREE HUNDRED GIGS . I'LL NEVER GO BACK TO WING NUTS AND FELTS AGAIN
I bought a set of these for all my cymbals.(6) Just screw one of these babies on your stand and it's always ready to go. I even found that if I put a felt on it under one of my crashes it cuts down on the extra "ring" I don't want on that one and it dies faster for quick "crisp" crash. Takes a little getting used to the taking the cymball off part but with a little practice I got it down. I play out about 1-2 times every couple of weeks. Some people don't like them but I'll give it two thumbs up.
OK - the convenience factor is certainly a plus. You don't have to worry about felts, washers, etc. It does take a while for the crowns to "loosen up" a bit, inasmuch that the hard plastic becomes easier to manage as you place your cymbals on them. The downside - after you play an exhausting gig, practice, etc - your hands & fingers are usually a bit fatigued, right? Well, that is when it is an absolute nightmare to remove your cymbals - in other words, it's difficult to squeeze & maneuver the device. Overall, I don't honestly know they protect or prolong the life of my crashes. We'll see.
