When you choose Crown's XTi 2 Series, you're choosing one of the most powerful and innovative amplifiers on the market today. With such innovations as a universal tracking switch-mode power supply and a fully integrated suite of speaker processing tools, these amps are at the top of their class when it comes to thermal efficiency and system flexibility.

You also have greatly improved control capabilities. The addition of Peak x Plus Limiters gives you full command over threshold, attack and release, and we enhanced the Subharmonic Synth so you can easily manage frequency, gain and filter type, allowing for application-specific tuning.

Plus, you'll now be able to tailor fan speed for specific applications and have software visibility of the Power Supply Temperature and AC Line Voltage. Combine all of that with integrated cast-aluminum rack handles for maximum durability and portability and you have the power to move you - and the world.

  • Peak x Plus Limiters provide the ultimate in system performance and protection by allowing full control over threshold, attack, and release
  • Enhanced Subharmonic Synth section provides user control over frequency, gain and filter type for system-specific tuning
  • 3 User-defined fan mode controls - normal, early and full speed - for matching fan performance to a specific application

    Integrated Processing
Input EQ: 6 parametric filters per channel with adjustable Q, ±15 dB boost/cut. Also adjustable high and low shelving filters. This 8-filter EQ section can be bypassed.
Crossover Filters: Highpass and Lowpass per channel. Butterworth 6/12/18/24 dB per octave. Linkwitz-Riley 24/48 dB per Octave. Also includes ±15 dB bandpass gain and polarity control.
Output EQ: 8 parametric filters per channel with adjustable Q, ±15 dB boost/cut. This 8-filter EQ section can be bypassed.
Delay: for signal alignment of driver; 50 mS of total delay.
SubHarmonic Synth: takes the low-frequency content of the input signal and "synthesizes" a new signal that is the same as the input signal but one octave lower. The new synthesized signal is then mixed with the original signal to create the effect. New: Users now have control over frequency, gain, and filter type.
Peak x Plus Limiter: user defeatable limiter that allows users to control Threshold, Attack, and Release times.
Presets: 30 total presets, 29 of which are user-definable.

The incredible lightness of... Crown...

By David Grain

from DC Area

Comments about Crown XTi2002 Power Amplifier:

I have been a fan of Crown amps for many years and the worst thing I could ever say about them was that the weight to power ratio was not very good... But honestly, it wasn't very good with ANY amp... I can no longer say that... I recently bought two XTI 2k2's and put them in a rack that had one Macrotech 1200... The XTI2's are almost twice the power and less than 1/2 the weight... The amp rack with two XTI2's weigh less than the same rack with one Macrotech 1200 in it... Which, as I get older is something that is NECESSARY!! LOL Overall, I am very happy with the newest additions to my sound system... The ability to set crossovers and limiters inside the amp is very handy and also means that no longer have to carry external devices to do those things... Can't wait for the the new USBX from Crown so that I can manipulate them wirelessly from my laptop or Ipod Touch!

Comments about Crown XTi2002 Power Amplifier:

I went from one Behringer EP4000 amp bridged to two Cerwin Vega EL-36C Subwoofers, to two Crown XTI 2002's bridged to two Cerwin Vega EL-36C's. You can read reviews on other amps, and listen to people talk about how good they are for the price blah blah blah. Here is the deal, if you have cheap subs, than a cheap amp may be "good enough" or a "great value" for you. Your first set, mobile gig, small DJ setup, perfect. But if you want AMAZING frequency response, CLEAN sound, INCREDIBLE features, without your amp even thinking about breaking a sweat, look no further. Tested side by side, there is NO comparison. ZERO. Some people, including myself, would never understand when people say "You get what you pay for" and always believe, "you are just paying for the name." I WAS WRONG. SO WRONG. Maybe I did pay for the name, but I also paid for whatever crown packed underneath the hood of these beasts. And it was worth EVERY PENNY A tell tail sign is when a company like Crown lists their power stats as "Minimum power output" where as a company like Behringer will list "Maximum power output" Do your research! There is a reason why people have coined the term "Behringer Watts" lol, and why almost no matter where you look, it is hard to find a negative Crown review.

Comments about Crown XTi2002 Power Amplifier:

I use this amp on a pair of EV ELX 112 cabs. These are 8 ohm cabs, 500w program, so I bridge the XTI 2002 and run it with the 4 ohm load for 2000w available output. Sounds great, never clips, hardly gets warm. I currently use a half dozen Crowns, including the XTI 4000. I have had no problems with either XTI amp. I've been doing sound reinforcement with Crown amps since the early 80s.

      Exceeds my expectations

      By KAY ELDER

Comments about Crown XTi2002 Power Amplifier:

My partner and I operate a musical entertainment company. Our continuing to add speakers and base bins to our equipment developed the need to add another amp. In our opinion, there is nothing like the performance of a Crown. My only complaint about setting it up for the first time is before we could plug in the cords, some strip had to be removed from the inputs. I don't remember hearing of this or seeing it written anywhere. This presented a problem at first because we thought we were going to have to get all new cords to fit the inputs. But upon careful examination, we discovered what was keeping our cords from going in.

Comments about Crown XTi2002 Power Amplifier:

Use two of these amps to power a pair of Yamaha S215V cabinets. Run them in bridged-mono. Have been a QSC PLX guy for years, but when the PLX prices went up and the XTi prices were more in my range, I decided to give them a try. Very punchy sound compared to my PLX amps. Usually do dance music in banquet halls for 300-500 people on the floor. Never needed to come near the clip light when using the amps. The built-in processing is solid, but it leaves me wishing for easier knob control because I'm used to a separate processor. I think the XTi series gives a tight sound and they do stay cooler than my PLX amps. While my PLX amps give me more depth on the low end and hit the mid and high notes with more definition, my XTi amps are covering the room better and giving me more punch withe the dance music.
