I bought a 802 to see how well in would hold up in our house of worship. I tested this Amp on several levels and the 802 worked fantastic. This unit was so good and easy to use, we bought 6 more! You an't go wrong with a Crown.
this amp is worth the price.we have a little band and with two of these is good enough for about 200-350 people.this amp can keep up with the long hours and still pack a powerful punch.if your looking for a good amp for a small gig...this is the one for you(depends on the system your running)
I bought this amplifier about a month ago, and I am happy with it so far. Very Powerful in Bridge mode. Huge bass response. I love the quality. The only thing I wish different was pre outs on the amplifier so I can daisy chain more together (for subs) instead of just one input, like the Xti models.
I bought this amp, and doing events with it without a carrying case. After one event, I was pushing my cart (loaded with 2 speakers/turntables/mixer/THIS CROWN AMP) onto an elevator and the wheel caught to gap at the elevator and my cart stopped instantly throwing my mixer and this amp smashing to the marble floor. The fall bent the metal casing this amp is built into. I got home, hook everything up and WOW!! IT STILL WORK AMAZING! No volume or static issues after that nasty fall. This CROWN is durable, and pushes my 2 15' JBL with ease. I also left it on over night after performing all evening and came back to the venue the next day find it running cool and quiet. Don't Hesitate to purchase a CROWN.
I use this amp to power a pair of JBL JRX 115 cabinets. I've also used it in bridged mono to power a Cerwin Vega folded subwoofer. It does provide a very constant sound, unlike cheaper brands that start to fade 2 or 3 hours into a gig. My only complaint is that the sound isn't very warm through the mids and lows in comparison to the QSC RMX series. After owning this amp and the first generation XLS, I know that it is 100% reliable gig after gig. Its a good amp with better than average sound quality, but not as good as the RMX. One way this amp is better than the RMX is that the Crown XLS series are fairly lightweight.
I bout one of these to run on a carvin sub that was 1600 peak. ran it bridged and it wouldnt push at all hardly without clipping. Had a sound enginneer come in and said this is one of the worst amps crown has prroduced. Crown is a good amp, but this particular model is a flop.
Basic amp sounds like what you want with right processing. Very clean and simple inside, I bought this to replace Behringer, should last as long. Works at 2 ohms but don't push it on low end, I use B52-4000 for that.
Crisp, clear sound with solid separation, exactly what I was looking for!
