I do have this amp for three years now, dont let the small wattage fool you, althought is only 200watts per channel at 8 ohms still delivers good sound,i use this in combination with my pv 900 for medium size rooms, the crown i set on bridge(600watts) to power my 8ohm 700 watts 18" single sub and no problem at all,the amp is not even at full vol,for better performance use a pa speaker processor.
For many years I have been a home theater enthusiast and have bought some very high end gear and though I was happy with the sound it still lacked personality. I purchased 3 of these along with 3 DBX 231 EQ's and my system came to life. Bass became very deep and tight, the separation between channels seemed to dissapear and I'm hearing details from my favorite CD's and DVD's that I've never heard before. My only drawback is the fan noice which in very quiet passages can be a bit loud, but put them in a rack or in an equipement room for a home theater and you won't have any problems. Definately try both of these products, you can't go wrong.
I have owned this amplifier for about 6 months now. I use it to power 2 JBL sinle 15's that are rated at 250 watts rms. This amp will not even go past half ways power and the JBL's will be at the fullest volume (concerning quality). I run it at 8 ohms per side, so 200 watts goin to each speaker. I gotta tell you, it's loud enough for an event of about 100-150 people. I have run it strong for about 6 hours maximum and no overheating at all. Great amplifier, even for the price.
This amp was great. I borrowed it from a friend to run monitors at a gig. I gave it a lower rating on features because it didn't have parallel imputs, which I really needed at the gig. I was able to figure something else out. It ran on 4 ohms a side for about 2 hrs, and it sounded so crystal clear. I have a behringer ep1500 for mains and it is pretty good too. Will definitely be buying a crown amp in the future. This was my first crown experience, and won't be the last!
