Comments about Cremona SV-1260 Maestro First Series Violin Outfit:

This was a very nice instrument. I returned it because it wasn't for me, but in the hands of a more skilled player, it would probably sound very pretty. What I didn't like was the sound was a bit tinty, high highs. I know with the small e string it's going to be high, but the larger strings seemed to lack depth of sound. That could be due to my skill level, but I don't think so. I think it's sound in an orchestra, or chamber orchestra setting being played by someone with more experience, those highs with vibrato would be very pretty. But for me I like a little more depth but not to the point of a viola.
I didn't like the fact that it would slip from tune frequently, and there was only one fine tuner on the tailpiece. But I would not deter someone from giving it a try. It's all a matter of the sound you're looking for.
