Jsut Bought This amp and it is really Good!! although the comments i have seen on this amp that say that its bad are a lie. The one truth is dont buy this amp for the built in effects. genrally when you buy and amp try to buy the best one with only a clean channel and then use pedals to get your distortion you will be more satisfied this way. Also i turned this amp up pretty loud while pumping 4 pedals through it and there is minimal buzzing which is amazing compared to my spider line six 30V amp which is soooooo loud with buzz. if you dont want the small buzz that it does put out i suggest looking into the decimater pedal which eliminates all amp buzz allowing you to turn up your pedals without hearing the buzz. but in all i love this amp and for a 6 inch speaker this thing is so loud it got louder than my spider line 6, 18 inch amp. so definately buy this amp
I am a fairly new guitarist that loves to play hard rock and metal. To really get the sound I'm going for I use 2 different BOSS pedals: the MT-2 and the ML-2. With recently picking up a pedalboard I was getting way too much noise on my 5W practice amp. This amp was just the right price for me and seemed to do what I wanted. This little amp rocks! I get no noise on either pedal regardless of knob settings. Both the clean and overdrive channels have a smooth, full sound. A good product for the money. I definetely recommend!!!
I bought this to replace my Fender Frontman 15 watt combo, which suddenly died on me. It sounds very good clean or distorted. I'd say the distortion is much better than my old Fender. It can easily reproduce the old-school AC/DC sound, WITH-OUT A DISTORTION PEDAL. I also like the headphone jack, it does'nt overwhelm the speakers in my headphones with volume - like the Fender did. There's absolutely no feed-back through the 8" speaker in this little beauty until you begin to reach 75 - 80 % with the volume & gain. In other words; its great for in the house or garage, but probably not a gig. I never owned a crate until now, and I'm very pleased with my purchase. I hope this review helps.
I've been playing guitar for about a year now, and I had to go about 3 months without an amp. When I got this amp for Christmas, I was blown away with how it sounded. A few days after I received it, I took it to a family get together, and my cousin was there (he's been playing guitar for about 30 years) and he loved the way it sounded, it was one of the best he ever heard. The way it sounds just fits me perfectly. I experimented with a les paul and Marshall and didnt get the results I was looking for. When I plugged in the les paul to the Crate, it sounded just right. But maybe thats only because Im used to the Crate sound more. Again Im only a year into playing guitar, but as I get older and more experienced, I plan on purchasing a much bigger and better Crate amplifier.
This amps MP3 Input is amazing, this was my second amp after only two years of playing, once i got the half stack i just use this now to amplify my music from my i-pod, but the gain is good for practicing by yourself, and the mp3 input allows you to play your favorite songs along with the music
The amp is nice and compact/light. It has a much louder sound than I expected but the one thing thats wrong with it is it's overdrive setting. Once you push that little button you get major feedback without even playing a note. And no matter how low the volume on the amp is it will play at ear shattering volume. Great for clean parctice or a blasting jam session. but that whiney feedback is hard to look past
This is the best amp i've ever used. It's great for any style, and loud enough to wake up the neighbors. There's a lot of feedback if you turn up the gain all the way, but if you turn it down a little its gone. I played this and my friend's marshall and this actually sounded better and much louder. and its tough. You could drive a truck over this thing!
The Crate flexwave 15 amp may only be a 15 watt amp, but it plays like a 30 watt. the channels are both powerful. No distortion pedal is needed. The distortion channel screams like a metal distortion pedal. The amazing part is the price. you cant get a better amp for any less. This baby rocks!!!!!
The Crate Flexwave FW15 combo amp has amazing features and at a surprisingly low price. The Mp3 adapter is also great for around the house! The 15-watt speaker sounds like 20 or 30 watts too.
