Cordoba Clarita beats all expectations

By Timothy Russell

from Charleston Sc

Comments about Cordoba Loriente Clarita CD/IN Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar:

I want to review the Cordoba Loriente Clarita CD/IN. This was a guitar I really tried to research before buying. When it arrived at the store, it was really a beautiful guitar. Even the sales people had high expectations and were almost as excited as I was that it had arrived. There is a beauty in simplicity. This guitar may seem simple, however,The guitar looks like a piece of art. From the feel to sound, the only feeling I can describe about this guitar is amazing. The sound from lows to highs are balanced. The neck is really easy for a classical. I look forward to the point that the guitar becomes ?Seasoned? even though it sound accurate, has great sustain, and the clarity you would expect from a cedar top. I have only been looking at Cordoba guitars for the past few months. My friends and I have been really impressed at the level of focus on quality and detail on the Lamente Clarita series. I hope to have a life time of enjoyment and hope to one day write a more in-depth review as the guitar adjust to time and being played. Guitar Center Staff at my local store were awesome in helping me to find the Clarita. They get five stars too!

Good guitar, bass strings sound loud

By Hamid Sayar

from Indianapolis, IN

Comments about Cordoba Loriente Clarita CD/IN Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar:

I bought this guitar from guitarcenter. I compared it side-by-side with my laminated spruce-top Epiphone C-10 (entry level guitar, $120). It was lighter than my Epiphone in weight. Its sound was louder. I would say it has enough sound to play at home for friends or in a small hall, but not a large hall. The sustain was reasonably good, not better than my Epiphone though (I guess my Epiphone is unusually good for an entry level guitar!). The action was low enough to be comfortably playable without unusual buzzing. Overall the playability was very good. My Ephiphone's action is a tad lower though. The sound of bass strings was somewhat exaggerated. This may be an exciting/positive advantage to many beginners, but more experienced players prefer a more balanced sound between bass and trebles. I have tested Cordoba C5 and C7, they also have same louder bass sound, so I guess this is a "Cordoba" thing. The guitar's apperance was good overall, better than my Epiphone, but not something very specifically attractive. I ended up returning the guitar to guitarcenter (BTW the return process was very smooth and painless, no harassment). Overall, it was a good guitar with good sound and good playability, the main reason I returned it was the exaggerated bass sound that although was a pleasure in some musics, but not my preference in general. Also, I felt I would not want to pay this much for a guitar that is, in my opinion, not that that that much better than my $120 Epiphone. Compared to my Epiphone I would say this Loriente Clarita would worth around $700-1000 max.
