Comments about Cordoba Dolce 7/8 Size Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar:

I purchased the Cordoba Dolce hoping it's shorter scale (630mm) would be less string tension and easier reach. My other instrument is a 10 course renaissance lute with aprox. 630mm scale. My other classical guitar is standard 650mm and there was a slight muscle memory issue when switching between instruments of different length. After 3 weeks playing the Dolce 630mm, I don't believe I'll ever return to 650mm scale guitars. Years ago I damaged the left arm ulner nerve from over playing. I had surgery and the arm is much better, but never the same. Classical became my secondary instrument and I focused on much lighter tension lute. The first Dolce I received from Guitar center had a distracting harmonic on the 5th string when played strongly. Not a buzz, some other sound. Guitar center technician adjusted truss rod but sound still there. He stated nothing wrong with guitar. I stated it wasn't right for me and the store manager offered to order another one. For that reason alone I would return to guitar center for future purchases. I received the second Dolce a week later and it sounded better to me. After a few weeks of playing on the Savarez strings, I installed Hannabach super low tension classical strings and have it tuned to A 430 pitch. I'm very pleased with it's sound and feel for a guitar in this price range. In the past, I've owned a dozen Classical guitars, three of which sell today in the $4,000 price range. The Dolce does not have performance muscle or tone of these guitars but it is plenty satisfying for personal use.

So good so good!

By Jordan

from Eugene, OR

Comments about Cordoba Dolce 7/8 Size Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar:

First classical guitar, very pleased with the sound and feel. Small size allows me to play comfortably and transport easily. Big sound for a small guitar, rings out loud and proud! Low action, very comfortable to play. Comes with a truss rod to adjust the neck, very practical. Big bang for buck!

Big Bang for Buck!

By Jordan

from Eugene, OR

Comments about Cordoba Dolce 7/8 Size Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar:

This is the first classical guitar I have owned and I couldn't be more impressed. It's a 7/8 size so slightly smaller than a standard, but it doesn't sacrifice volume or quality of sound. It's light and portable, very comfortable and easy to play. The action is low and the guitar is really easy to play. It comes with a truss rod so you can adjust the neck to your preference and at your leisure; a nice option. I recommend Cordoba to anyone asking me about classical guitars, and I'll certainly direct them to the Dolce!

Slightly smaller scale with a full sized sound

By Nancy Wilson

from Jacksonville FL

Comments about Cordoba Dolce 7/8 Size Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar:

I love this guitar- the body is just the tiniest bit smaller than a Manual Rodriguez C1 full size, but the 630 scale is 3/4 of an inch shorter than full size. So the bass is cut only very slightly because of the length and yet the sound isn't inhibited by the body, as in the even smaller guitars. It's basically a Cordoba C5 but just slightly smaller. So the sound is bright and has great volume, while the cedar top gives good sustain. The smaller scale is quicker to navigate, and the notes don't sustain quite as long, so I find it actually easier to play than full size. Very enjoyable and less strain to practice and improvise with. And I love a truss rod in a classical guitar to enhance the life.

Beautiful baby

By Kay Meek

from Houston, TX

Comments about Cordoba Dolce 7/8 Size Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar:

The Cardoba Dolce 7/8 is one of the most beautiful guitars that I've ever played. Everything about this beautiful baby is absolutely perfection. The mahogany wood on side and back glows with a beautiful golden sheen when the guitar is moved around. The Canadian cedar top has a beautiful rich color. The rosette is stunning. The Dolce is light weight and has feel of a much more expensive guitar. The voice is warm, yet has a strong volume and has a beautiful sustain. This guitar sounds much better than my $2000 Alhambra. The only negative point that I've seen is that the tuner buttons are beautiful, but fragile. If they are held by the edges when tuning, they can break easily. When I contacted the Cardoba company about the problem, they sent me a replacement button very quickly. I wish that all of my students would be able to have a Dolce.
