One of the original models in Cordoba's Luthier Series, the Cordoba C9 is built with solid European spruce top with solid mahogany back and sides. The C9 features a fan bracing pattern, which gives the center of the soundboard more surface area to vibrate and respond to the tension of the strings. A more responsive soundboard makes the guitar louder, and provides better tone. The C9 is the perfect choice for the serious classical guitarist, or for any player looking to upgrade to a concert-level instrument at an affordable price.
Like every guitar in the Luthier Series, the C9 is built with Spanish heel construction, where the top of the guitar is attached to the neck, the sides are added next, and the guitar' body is sealed by the installation of the back. This construction feature allows the entire instrument to vibrate as one unified piece. The C9 has the neck shape and flat fingerboard characteristic of traditional classical guitars, and includes the added benefit of a two-way truss rod built into the neck. Cordoba recently expanded upon the C9, offering two new options that appeal to guitarists from all backgrounds: the C9 Parlor, which has a 7/8 size body shape and 50mm nut width, and the C9 Crossover, which is a full size guitar with a slim neck profile, radiused fingerboard, and 48mm nut width.
Aesthetic touches like the mother-of-pearl weave rosette inspired by a 1920's Domingo Esteso guitar add a touch of vintage elegance to this best-seller. Other premium features include an rosewood fingerboard, rosewood bridge, high gloss finish, and Savarez Cristal Corum strings. The C9 includes Cordoba's lightweight polyfoam case.

Comments about C9 SP/MH Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar:
I began taking classical guitar lessons in February using a Cardoba C1. I was very satisfied with that instrument as a beginner until I heard a C9 played by another student. The C1 was adaquate for a beginner, don't get me wrong, but the difference in the sound betwen the C1 and the C9 was amazing. The C9, at its price point, is still considered an entry level guitar, but the woods and appointments and the sound, are those of a much finer instrument. This is a solid wood guitar with a solid spruce top and solid mahogany sides and back. The solid woods, especially the sound board, make this guitar sing. It came setup with H T strings. The neck was dead flat but the action a little higher than I like. After 4 months of lessons I now know I like 3 mm from top of 12th fret to bottom of the low E string. This was achieved by removing about 1 mm from the bridge saddle. I have now used the guitar for one month and can say I am completly satisfied. I am not pretending that I can get everything out of this guitar after just a few lessons, but it's easy to play and the bright, responsive sound has brought a whole new dimension to the simple pieces I have learned so far. The C9 also comes with a fabric/styrofoam case.
Comments about Cordoba C9 SP/MH Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar:
I go to school for performing arts with a concentration in classical guitar and my instructors all have 10k+ guitars that sound great but they are still amazed everytime i play on how amazing the c9 is and just for 700. Tuning heads have 0 play which gives me such accurate tuning and the neck has great playability. Looks amazing also
