Unfortunately, some items at the online catalog have a lack of useful information or pictures, and as a costumer, one needs some more basis to decide if a particular instrument is the one you are looking for. Well, this is one of those items; but the truth is that this is a very special instrument: stuning look, great playability, perfect action and wonderful crispy sound. The cedar of the top is beautiful, and the rosewood of the back and sides makes a great combination with the warm sound of the cedar. I still have my hesitations about the laminate of the rosewood of the back and sides, but it looks as beautiful and resistant than any solid wood. Actually I own a Breedlove all solid wood construction, and I wuld`nt be able to tell the real diference. Time will tell. Apart from that, I think this is a wonderful instrument; I bought it online and I got a beautiful instrument with excellent protection and with a trendy and resistant gig bag. If you are interested in this guitar, dont hesitate, you̴ll have a nice surprise.

Was hoping to love this guitar, but the sound unplugged leaves a lot to be desired. Sounds worse than my $200 Alverez I had for years. Hollow and cheap. Sounds good pluggged in.

Returned it and decided to get a C9 without the Electronics or Cutaway, and bought a Kremona piezo pickup. A bit more expensive, but really worth it. Now I'm very happy.

Amazing

By Scott Keller

from Pittsburgh, PA

Comments about Cordoba C7-CE CD Acoustic-Electric Nylon String Classical Guitar:

I was looking for a classical guitar for almost a year knowing I wanted to learn to play flamenco and classical guitar someday and I ended up buying the Cordoba C7 without ever playing it and couldn't be happier with my purchase. This guitar is amazing especially for $650, I played a few that were almost twice the price and they didn't come close to the sound of the Cordoba C7. The bass notes hit nice and low while the high's almost sound like a harp. I played my first three years on an old Yamaha folk guitar from 1976 and I loved that guitar. Needless to say that I haven't touched it since my Cordoba arrived. Playing fingerstyle is so much smoother and is so much easier on my fingers. I keep screwing up when I'm playing because I keep getting caught up in how beautiful it sounds. I haven't messed with the pre-amp too much, but I plugged into my Roland Cube Lite practice amp and it sounded just as good. I don't have enough experience to review the electronics on it since I mostly play acoustic but it sounds amazing whether it's plugged in or not. If you are looking for a classical guitar, this is the guitar you should get - you will not be disappointed.

Cordoba C7-CE: Guitar you will enjoy

By Sergei

from Sacramento, CA

Comments about Cordoba C7-CE CD Acoustic-Electric Nylon String Classical Guitar:

Received guitar couple weeks ago and can not stop enjoying it. This is very nice guitar - beautiful look and finish. It sounds pleasantly when playing solo pieces and classical compositions. This CE7-CE has a cedar top and Fishman Presys blend pickup with onboard digital tuner. I use in the band as well. It is worth money to buy it. I have another C1 classical guitar and even though this is cutaway guitar, compared to C1 it sounds to me better - sound is crisp and loud.

Beautiful, high quality classical at affordable price

By William Brough

from Sandy, UT

Comments about Cordoba C7-CE CD Acoustic-Electric Nylon String Classical Guitar:

I bought a Cordoba C7 about a year ago and, despite owning several electrics and acoustics, it quickly became my favorite guitar. In fact, I was casually looking to upgrade my rather cheap, old Ventura classical guitar and was just browsing when I discovered the C7 at Guitar Center and fell instantly in love with it. I bought it on the spot, which is impulsive and not like me--it's the only time I ever purchased a guitar that I didn't shop and compare and plan for months. I loved the cedar top with the Indian rosewood back and sides, and the gorgeous wood inlays all over it. It wasn't expensive, but it didn't look cheap. A special touch was the hardware for the tuners, which had that unique black-on-gold embossing on them, and the one-of-a-kind ebony tuning buttons. You wouldn't expect touches that nice on guitar at that price! But once I learned a few nice classical pieces that I wanted to include in my live set, I realized I wanted a classical guitar I could plug into the PA, so I reluctantly put the C7 up for sale and bought a Cordoba C7-CE. The cutaway is helpful, and of course the Fishman pickup with EQ and onboard tuner makes it a very functional guitar, but I do think it gave up a little in tone over the standard C7. It's not quite as warm, although the action and playability are as good as ever. So I give it 4 out of 5 stars, although my old C7 would have been a perfect 5.

Cordoba C7-CE

By Ed S

from Ventura, CA

Comments about Cordoba C7-CE CD Acoustic-Electric Nylon String Classical Guitar:

Never played a Cordoba guitar before but was blown away by the sound and the playability of this guitar. I played other more expensive guitars at the store but kept going back to the Cordoba C7. I also liked the onboard tuner. That was another plus for me. I bought the C7-CE along with an amp. Three days later, I returned the amp. The natural sound of the guitar was better as apposed to using the amp. I enjoy playing this guitar and looking forward to purchasing another in the near future. Ed S.

I was looking to upgrade my Washburn WA90CE guitar and was just browsing when I discovered the C7 at Guitar Center in LA Mesa and fell instantly in love with it. I got more than I paid for. Stunning look, great playability, perfect action, and wonderful sound. The cedar of the top is beautiful, and the rosewood of the back and sides makes a great combination with the deep sound of the cedar. I enjoy playing this guitar and looking forward to purchasing another in the near future. Great job Cordoba!

Cordoba Iberia C7-CE Guitar - Wow!

By R. D. W.

from Ogden UTAH

Comments about Cordoba C7-CE CD Acoustic-Electric Nylon String Classical Guitar:

I had heard of the Cordoba guitar reputation and had always heard good things. I received my C7-CE (Cedar top) today and Cordoba's reputation is proven for me. I am well pleased with the quality of craftsmanship and the quality of sound. It plays "easy" and its beautiful sound is a delight to hear with or without an amplifier. The Fishman Presys preamp system is a great addition. I like having the ability to blend the guitar's acoustic mic with the saddle pickup signal. This gives a lot of control for selecting the sound of the guitar for any particular style of music I'm playing. The action is set just right for my playing style and the neck is absolutely straight so all pitches are true all the way to the top of the fingerboard. Never a buzz! For its price range, I feel I received more than my money's worth. Great guitar - I recommend it to anyone who's looking for a quality guitar in this price range.

cordoba C7CE ... beats the Cordobas of yesterday in quality and tone !

By Doug H.

from Richmond, VA

Comments about Cordoba C7-CE CD Acoustic-Electric Nylon String Classical Guitar:

My sister had one of the guitars that later became the Gipsy Kings model, in rosewood/spruce. It is nice and plays well and sounds pretty good acoustically. My guitar is the rosewood/spruce one, yet I sought it after seeing and hearing the cedar topped model locally. both that guitar and mine are nearly identical in the workamanship and appearance and the tone of both is very good... not just 'pretty good'. This model is a stage ready guitar! Cordoba has really improved everything about the guitars over the past several years and you will not go wrong on this model. I had one of their guitars that costs about $1K and sold it immediately back on eBay. The C7CE is the one I kept without any hesitation. And I own 2 concert caliber guitars from well known luthiers and have played a Marin-Montero briefly. So I recognize guitar quality. For under $700, the C7CE is a 'shoo in'... just get it if you are waffling or can afford to take a chance. Like me, you may sell one of the luthier built instruments to have the $$, and be content to play and enjoy the Cordoba and keep the thousands difference!

Cordoba Guitar , Waiting

By Monty Hogan

from Fort Collins, Colorado

Comments about Cordoba C7-CE CD Acoustic-Electric Nylon String Classical Guitar:

I had heard about Cordoba from a friend and contacted guitar center to let me know when they got one in. Tried one in the showroom when that happened. I got an entry level model of about $400.00 tried it for a couple weeks liked they way it played and sounded, but decided it would be nicer to have a more professional model like this one I got now. So I traded it in and last years model was on backorder. Every month they would tell me maybe next month it would be here. 6 months later Gtr. Ctr. distributor in Utah called and said I could have the 2014 version of the guitar I ordered on back order and I would not have to wait. Finally when it came in December it was like Xmas, showed up 4 days after the call came for new model, I love the sound, the stylish silver mesh backpack guitar case, Fishman electronics with digital tuner and battery placement, the black and gold tuners, I have had it out and performed with it already in a jazz club together on my new Cordoba through the Fishman Loud Box Mini Amp and let me say they were made for each other. Blended perfectly for my Bossa Nova and Jazz Samba gigs, clarity with no feedback, great sound, gives anything that calls for nylon string guitar sound great balance and clarity, Bossa, Samba, Flamenco, Classical. People have commented regularly how nice it sounds when I take it out on the town. Cordoba makes a good guitar if your into these things. Check em out!

Great Value and Great Quality Guitar

    By Frank the Tank

Comments about Cordoba C7-CE CD Acoustic-Electric Nylon String Classical Guitar:

This guitar has great old world classical guitar craftsmanship combined with modern conveniences like a cutaway and electronics with volume contol, bass, mids, treble, notch, mic blend, phase and a built in tuner that is very convenient to have, especially with a nylon string guitar to keep it in tune. The machine head tuners have a beautiful ornate design that I like as well. This guitar has good punch and volume to it even when not plugging it into an amplifier. I'm very happy with the Cordoba C7 CE Iberia series acoustic electric nylon string guitar and would recommend it to anyone.

Good sound but several sad mistakes in workmanship

    By Scott H

    from Vancouver, WA

Comments about Cordoba C7-CE CD Acoustic-Electric Nylon String Classical Guitar:

I picked up this guitar along with another Cordoba, and the sound is excellent in the mid to upper range, low range is nice but a bit quiet for my taste..great when plugged in though. Looks amazing, except for the pearl fret markers are poorly lined up, especially on the 12th fret...don't know, could just be a one time fluke. The biggest problem is that it does not note out correctly, particularly noticeable on the low end. 5th fret sounds slightly flat when the guitar is perfectly in tune, and I can't find a balance where all the cords sound good. Once again this could be a one time botch-up, but it is a sign of extremely bad quality control imho. I could overlook cosmetic flaws if a guitar played well and in tune and sounded great, but I cannot overlook improper notation. That being said, I am sure Cordoba would warranty that defect, but I will simply be returning the guitar. Also, the action came extremely high, so plan on having it lowered if you buy this guitar. I found that half of the problem with the action is that the truss rod needed to be tightened, which hi lights a plus...it has a truss rod! But the action still needs to come down. I would lower it myself, but I am going to leave it as-is because I'm returning this guitar. If you find one that does note out right I would say it is a very good guitar for the beginner to intermediate player. The sound is amazing tone wise, and really helps maintain interest in playing. Also the electronics are awesome and sound great when plugged in.

    Great guitar for working musician

    By NM

    from Nevada

Comments about Cordoba C7-CE CD Acoustic-Electric Nylon String Classical Guitar:

This guitar is a great work horse. First of all, I use it every day for hours in my private studio, and its easy playability doesn't make my hand tired or injure it. The same goes for my solo guitar gigs: I can play for hours without fatigue. The electronics are fantastic, and I truly get a beautiful sound through the amplifier. This is not a strictly classical guitar. The acoustic properties and low action do not lend itself well to play pure classical guitar in a concert hall, but it is great for virtually anything else: solo gigs, teaching, pit orchestras, and so forth.
