I like this one more than some of the higher priced models by Cordoba (the work man ship seemed to be lacking in the other models). It's well put together and has a sweet one un-plugged (though it may be a little lacking for some). The cutaway allows for easy access to the upper frets and the action is low and buzz free. All around this is a good buy that won't break the bank.

I bought this guitar because it has exceptional reviews online and it has the best sound of any electric acoustic classical guitar in the price range. The Lucero model of the same price has almost all of the same features but just doesn't sound as good. This guitar has had all kinds of problems. My first two C5-CE guitars both had problems with the pickup system. The tuner would turn on but would never register a note making it impossible to use the onboard tuner. I checked every other C5-CE at two different Guitar Centers and they all had the same problem except for the one I have now. The employees all said that it must be a fluke and that these preamps are good quality. However, only one out of about eight of these preamps actually worked for me. Doesn't sound like a good preamp in my opinion. After I got the preamp issue fixed, the guitar worked fine for about two months but today two of the machine head plastic tuners broke off in my hand. Not cool. Cordoba is sending me replacements under the guitar's three year warranty but it is still a hassle. That kind of thing should not happen. I'm not buying Cordoba again.

This guitar is awesome! My first classical, and I'm glad that it is! Pre-amp works great and tunes guitar very well. For the price, this guitar is great! It's a light as any classical; you wouldn't know there was a truss rod!

Cordoba C5-CE

By Stephen Soza

from Silver Spring, MD

Comments about Cordoba C5-CE Acoustic Electric Nylon String Classical Guitar:

I don't have the thin body, but i have the regular one. Let me start off by saying that this product is AMAZING . The guitar comes with a built-in Fishman pick up system. I've plugged the guitar in and it sounds fantastic. Even without the amp the guitar sounds good, crisp and loud (a good loud) . The gold and ivory tuning machines also look beautiful. There is also NO fret buzz at all. The wide neck and nylon strings make it easy to hit bar chords (like the infamous F-Chord) . The gloss combination with the Cedar and Mahogany make the guitar look fantastic. This is the first time i've ever reviewed a product. Thats how good this guitar is.

So pleased with this guitar!

By Robert Anderson

from Austin, Texas

Comments about Cordoba C5-CE Acoustic Electric Nylon String Classical Guitar:

This is an excellent guitar and a great value. I was looking at and playing several lower cost classical cutaways, and happened on this Cordoba C5-CE - there was just no comparison. It played, looked, and sounded so much better than the bargain models that it wasn't even a close call, and GC offered a discount that made it quite competitve price-wise. DETAILS: 1) Excellent sound and projection low to high that compares well to more expensive guitars. 2) Beautiful craftsmanship and gloss finish. 3) Quality electronics including a responsive on-board tuner. 4) Nicely set up, easy to play out of the box. 5) Comes with excellent Savarez strings. 6) Includes custom gig bag - guitar fits securely, room for accessories and music. A guitar to be proud of!

Perfect right out of the box!

By DUSTY ODAY

from Santa Fe, TX

Comments about Cordoba C5-CE Acoustic Electric Nylon String Classical Guitar:

I recently purchased this guitar at a Guitar Center store, and I am loving it. It is far superior in craftsmanship to another guitar I had purchased in the same price range. I ended up taking that guitar back and choosing the Cordoba C5-CE. The minute I unwrapped it I could see a clear difference in attention to detail than with the first guitar I chose. The Cordoba tuned up easily, and the tuners felt nice and smooth with a decent ratio. The guitar was already strung up with my favorite strings, Savarez, so I was ready to play. Acoustically the sound is rich and full for a guitar not in the $600 -$1000. The fishman preamp sounds great through my amp and recorded. I am extremely happy with my purchase of the Cordoba C5-CE, and would recommend it to anyone thinking of buying an acoustic-electric nylon string guitar in the same price range.

Comments about Cordoba C5-CE Acoustic Electric Nylon String Classical Guitar:

got this guitar right out of the box, handed it to the guitar tech on hand at the local guitar center and after a few tweeks the guitar sounded sweet, great low fast action with out any fretting, tried other brands but now match up to the sound quality, using the guitar for zac brown style county, really happy with the guitar and its smooth sailing from now on

Best Choice

By Charles Fox

from Henrico, NC

Comments about Cordoba C5-CE Acoustic Electric Nylon String Classical Guitar:

In the price range I was looking the C5-CE is simply the best choice. I researched online for weeks before heading to the store. Online and in the shop I kept coming back to the Cordoba. It just felt right. Once home I feel confident I made the right decision. It sounds great, looks beautiful, and feels like a quality product.
