Overview

The D11-E is the top of Cordoba’s Acero Series guitars, a line of all-solid steel strings approached from a classical or Spanish guitar building perspective. Most notably, Cordoba is using an integrated neck joint or “Spanish Heel” instead of a traditional dovetail joint to join the body and neck of the guitar. This method of construction offers a lighter weight and more stable heel joint that increases resonance and is less prone to movement as the guitar ages. The bracing pattern is a hybrid of a Torres-style Spanish fan pattern and X-bracing, and allows the top to move freely with an explosive attack and rich resonant tone.

The D11-E dreadnought features all-solid acacia for the back and sides which give it a clear, bright tone, and distinctive figured appearance. The D11-E also features a solid Sitka spruce top along with a beautiful ebony fingerboard and rosewood bridge and binding. The styling is refined and sleek, using acacia wood on the double ring rosette and 12th fret fingerboard inlays, capped off with Cordoba’s signature elevated headstock with an acacia strip and mother-of-pearl inlay.

The finish is a thinly applied high gloss polyurethane. The D11-E also comes with the Acoustic Fidelity System II (AFS), Cordoba’s new proprietary pickup that offers both piezo and mic blending capabilities. Other features include a tusq nut and saddle, gold Grover tuners, Elixir NANOWEB Light Gauge (.012-.053) strings, and a Cordoba deluxe archtop wood case with built-in HumiCase humidification.

Comments about Cordoba Acero D11-E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The cover for the battery compartment does not lock. This the second time I get a Cordoba with a minor problem (the first was a broken case) but that makes you wonder if there could be another problem popping up with the guitar in the future.

Great looking guitar. Quality built. Excellent sound. Overall, incredible especially for the price. Also, includes a great looking humidified case. Own about 6 guitars and this one will stay as one of my top favorites.

Comments about Cordoba Acero D11-E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This was a "Daily Pick" purchase, so I ended up with an amazing guitar for a very low price. I can't imagine why this model was discontinued. If you don't have one, you are missing out on something very special. It's a true hybrid design and it has a remarkable strumming tone. Plenty of room on the neck for finger-style. Beautiful figured grain. And electronic. Where was this guitar 10 years ago? I would have saved so much time and money.

Comments about Cordoba Acero D11-E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

A real great sounding guitar I got as a Guitar Center daily pick deal. This all solid guitar is way better than other guitars that I have tried and owned in its price range. Without a doubt this guitar could be more expensive than its regular price in terms of sound quality and craftsmanship than any other all solid guitar in its price category. Flawless design. Sounds is superb. I'm glad I put my trust on Cordoba. I was a Martin fan. I thought only Martin is great when it comes to guitar. I was wrong.

Comments about Cordoba Acero D11-E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I was apprehensive at 1st about buying this guitar since I purchased it sight un-seen and it is made in China. Out of the box the action was high and need to be adjusted. The tone is warn, thought the guitar did not have a very high db. After testing the sound db using a meter against my other acoustic guitars I found the D11 to have the same db levels and the sub stain was smother plus longer.
easy to play, yes!. I got a great deal on the guitar and if they had more at the price I paid I would buy another and put different string on it. The case TOP NOTCH! The guitar is noticeably heavy weighing close to 6 lbs
