Excellent tone and a beautiful intrument!

By Moses Trout

from Milan, MI

I've owned and played 3 other ukes that were plywood construction. None of them can even compare to this all solid acacia uke. It has a sweet mellow tone. Tuners on this uke appear to be upgraded from the 15 and 20 series Cordoba ukes. Wood work and inlays are beautifully done. I did not give 5 stars because I have some concerns about some bowing in the top at the bridge. I am not sure this is even a problem as everything else about this uke is great and it sounds great too. Only time will tell on the bowing at the bridge. All in all I love this uke!

quality

By Tom Rogers

from Nashville, TN

Love this uke. I was surprised how well it was set up straight out of the box, I haven't done anything to it after having it for several months except changing the strings. It has a soft and smooth sound that I had been looking for. The neck has a slightly thinner profile which was another selling point for me. The detail in the ornamentation and wood inlay looks even better in person. For the price I have yet to pick up a better ukulele.

Merry Christmas to me!

By Lori Schoen

from Rogue Valley, Oregon

My husband purchased a Cordoba CK25 ukulele as my Christmas gift this year after I expressed a strong desire to learn to play a ukulele. He went to Guitar Center and talked with everyone that knew about them and decided that this would be the best choice because of it's quality and price.I have practiced it every day. As a beginner I can only say that I love the feel and tone and look of it. I look forward to playing with it every day and have heard nothing but good about this instrument from fellow guitar and uke players!

Great Ukulele

By JULIA B

from Portland, Oregon

I went to GC to shop for a good little instrument that I can play for many years. I found this instrument to be well made and easy to play. The set up was excellent with great attention to detail. Above all, the sound is fantastic! Since I've had it (about a week now) everyone enjoys playing i!. It is beautiful to look at and beautiful to play. Excellent!!!

Amazing sound!

By Sven

from Champaign, IL

The Cordoba CK25 Uke is one that I tested in detail at the store before buying. I already own an Ibanez and a Silver Creek soprano. When I went to the store, I sat in the acoustic guitar room and tested all ukuleles for a long time, and multiple brands (high end Lanakais, etc.). The winner: Cordoba CK25. Why? Solid koa at a reasonable price. Sure, they say itۡs Portugese koa versus Hawaiian koaۡ_who cares? The sound is impeccable. I noticed in my testing of at least ten ukuleles that day that the Cordoba, despite being solid wood, was the lightest out there. The open tuners on simple headstock make for a very light and airy feel, and the body of the guitar is super thin with outstanding ton, yet does not at all feel cheap. As you can see, the reviews online are unanimous about the quality of the build. Itۡs true. And the light weight compared to other ukes, especially in the head, makes it a joy to play for hours. Iۡm not a guitarist, but now understand that Cordoba makes some high end nylon stringed classical guitars, with some priced in the thousands. Cordoba has a wonderful website, and I sincerely ask you to google it and see all the fine ukes and guitars they manufacture. The quality shows, and it comes through in this ukulele. Even the gig bag is outstanding, not a throw-away like many gig bags. You have to see it to understand how plush (20mm) and thick it is. The gig bag alone is worth the difference in price between this model and some other major brands. My Cordoba does not go out of tune, and has no buzz. I adore it. I truly will keep this ukulele for life. A winner.

Cordoba 25CK Concert Ukulele

By Dr. R

from Ypsilanti, MI

Albeit that I am a beginner learning the ukulele, I did a reasonable amount of research to select a decent instrument. The Cordoba 25CK has a beautiful tone, an outstanding koa wood grain, and stood out from other ukuleles I tried. It came with Aquila nylgut strings and I was amazed how well it holds tuning right after I brought it home. I am not sure what others were seeing as a limitation regarding not holding its tuning. I am very pleased with my purchase and anticipate playing this ukuele for a long time! I hope this review is helpful to you in your purchase of a ukulele. Happy Holidays!

Almost there. I think

By Addman

from Matawan, NJ

I love this little Ukulele. I love the tone, the finish and the playability. As a guitarist, this is my first uke experience and it is quite pleasent. I like the inlay around the sound hole and on the bridge, yet more attention to detail there. Don't look down on a Spanish company making Ukuleles in Portugal. THe ukulele was actually born from the Portugese braguinha. The are just about identical. Now, I am not sure about its ability to stay in tune. Perhaps its just the new nylon strings that came with it. I will know soon enough once i change them.

Good, not great

By Toklas

from Portland, OR

This is my third Uke and I have to agree that there is a buzz, but it isn't constant and it actually seems to have more to do with the particular string being hit rather than the strumming but I just got my used one today and haven't narrowed down the buzz just yet. In any case, I'm happy with the purchase. It's a good little concert uke, I'd just probably get it used.

Could have been made better...

By Cordoba Guy

from Colorado

This is a beautiful Uke. The materials of wood are top notch. The problem I have is as a serious instrument it falls short. There is a perceptable buzz from the bridge when played / strummed fast. Also the tuning gears are not machined well so the strings lose tune alot.
