Cordoba C9 Parlor CD Classical Guitar Blemished - Like New (H96248)

A compact guitar with a solid cedar top and vintage style.

New to the Luthier series, the Cordoba C9 Parlor is a 7/8 (630mm scale length) version of the best-selling C9 model. It features a solid Canadian cedar top, solid mahogany back and sides, ebony fingerboard, and signature mother-of-pearl rosette inspired by a 1920's Domingo Esteso design. The foundation of the Luthier Series rests upon building methods such as the Spanish heel, hand carved necks and braces, and domed soundboards, which are built on a traditional solera. With its sleek design, the C9 Parlor is the perfect choice for the player looking for a full, rich sound with the comfort and ease of a smaller body. Comes with a hardshell Cordoba humidified archtop case.

  • Love my cordoba c9!

As reviewed by Danny Kahn on 4/18/2014

After months of shopping, I finally picked the c9. It's all solid wood sounds beautiful and looks wonderful. I would expect a guitar like this one to be way more expensive and it even comes with a really nice case. I highly recommend it.

  • Great playing guitar and great sound

As reviewed by Charles Cummins on 4/22/2014

Great playing guitar and great sound for such a small instrument. The only problem with the guitar is that it has has a heavy polyurethane oder from the finish. I am hoping it will dissipate over time and is a temporary issue. I would have given it 4.5 stars but not available. Big fan, will be keeping this one..

  • A Good Value in a Rare Size

As reviewed by ANN MARTHA on 12/11/2013

The 7/8 Dolce series is a traditional "ladies" guitar, sized to suit smaller hands. For some musical works, I find the size convenient for chording requiring stretch. However, there are trade-offs when an instrument is sized down. In this case, the problem is string tension. The Dolce uses standard strings as there are no 7/8 scale strings on the market. Until the strings break in, expect some resistence in holding chords in higher neck positions. This is the way a 7/8 Dolce compares in size to a standard guitar: 7/8 neck width at the nut -- 49mm; neck length from nut to bridge -- 631 mm. My standard guitar has a neck width at the nut of 50mm and a neck length of 650mm. Cordoba puts fine workmanship and fine materials into the Dolce C-9: the best strings, solid mahogany for the body and neck and stock and an ebony fingerboard and a rosewood bridge. This wood selection yields a full mellow tone. The Savarez Corum strings are of the finest grade, but unavailable in 7/8 proportion which is why the string tension is too tight when the instrument is new. Another draw back is the overpowering smell of the fresh polyurethane coating which needs months to evaporate away. I miss the days when musical instruments were coated in shellac. The C-9 Dolce comes with a fine hard shell case that has a built-in humidifier. The case would be very expensive to buy separately. As a package the guitara with its case are a very good value for a serious student guitarist who needs a smaller instrument. Many colleges now offer classical guitar instruction, and this instrument is in demand as the teacher's choice for students with smaller hands. I had to wait 2 months to get my C-9 Dolce, but the Guitar Center followed up with excellent service.
