  • Nice guitar...

As reviewed by Gabriel on 10/3/2010

I am a semipro classical guitarist and needed a better gig guitar. I needed to have a decent classical to save my concert guitars from road rash and amplify. This guitar is not in the same league as my luthier built Thomas Fredholm or Antonio Raya Pardo, but it is a great student guitar. I fitted mine with the K&K classic pro transducer and put it through my LrBaggs preamp and Roland AC60. All in all a well built guitar with a respectable sound and feel. This is a great guitar for students and working musicians. The cedar top is thin and close grained, tuners are tight and accurate. The bone nut and saddle are well constructed. The finish is thin and allows the top to vibrate freely, ebony fretboard is dark and good quality. Frets are good sized and well dressed. I have owned a Yamaha CGX-171cca and this guitar is much better built. I recommend Cordoba Cadet, C5 and C7 for my students and decided to get one for my self.

  • WONDERFUL YET AFFORDABLE GUITAR.

As reviewed by Adso on 1/24/2011

This is an all-solid wood guitar with a great sounding Canadian cedar top and beautiful solid mahogany back and sides. It's light but wonderfully resonant. It has a powerful yet exquisite tone with rich bass and balanced and bright treble. It stands out over other guitars at this price range; no wonder it was picked and reviewed highly by the acoustic guitar magazine. I just got one for myself and I was impressed by how strongly I felt on my chest the vibration of the instrument as I played. This guitar is like a concert level instrument for the advanced student or a serious amateur at an unbelievably reasonable price. The finish is pretty and well done. The ebony fretboard is beautiful and fretting it feels very nice. The tuners are high grade, the type that you'd see on high end concert guitars and they are pretty and precise to the cent. The mother-of-pearl and ebony rosette is just gorgeous and makes you want to play more as you pass by the guitar while it's on the stand. In short, if you're a serious student of classical guitar, this is the guitar for you. If you don't have ten thousand dollars for a guitar but still want a guitar resonant enough for performance you can now get it for much less and still obtain a great instrument.

  • Beautiful sounding and looking guitar

As reviewed by Rod on 3/15/2011

I am a beginner and had been looking for a classical guitar under $1000 for a long time. It had to have the sound I was looking for and had to look great too. This is it! The sound is perhaps not as full as more expensive guitars but it has a wonderfully rich and resonant tone. The cedar sounds better than the spruce version but that's personal preference. In fact it sounds better than many much more expensive guitars. It has a beautiful finish in every respect. The rosette, the purfling, the tuners, the finish, the color of the wood - cedar and mahogany. I had tried guitars up to $1400 and more and this is the one for me.
