  • Amazing

As reviewed by Scott Keller on 1/22/2014

I was looking for a classical guitar for almost a year knowing I wanted to learn to play flamenco and classical guitar someday and I ended up buying the Cordoba C7 without ever playing it and couldn't be happier with my purchase. This guitar is amazing especially for $650, I played a few that were almost twice the price and they didn't come close to the sound of the Cordoba C7. The bass notes hit nice and low while the high's almost sound like a harp. I played my first three years on an old Yamaha folk guitar from 1976 and I loved that guitar. Needless to say that I haven't touched it since my Cordoba arrived. Playing fingerstyle is so much smoother and is so much easier on my fingers. I keep screwing up when I'm playing because I keep getting caught up in how beautiful it sounds. I haven't messed with the pre-amp too much, but I plugged into my Roland Cube Lite practice amp and it sounded just as good. I don't have enough experience to review the electronics on it since I mostly play acoustic but it sounds amazing whether it's plugged in or not. If you are looking for a classical guitar, this is the guitar you should get - you will not be disappointed.

  • cordoba C7CE ... beats the Cordobas of yesterday in quality and tone !

As reviewed by Doug H. on 9/29/2012

My sister had one of the guitars that later became the Gipsy Kings model, in rosewood/spruce. It is nice and plays well and sounds pretty good acoustically. My guitar is the rosewood/spruce one, yet I sought it after seeing and hearing the cedar topped model locally. both that guitar and mine are nearly identical in the workamanship and appearance and the tone of both is very good... not just 'pretty good'. This model is a stage ready guitar! Cordoba has really improved everything about the guitars over the past several years and you will not go wrong on this model. I had one of their guitars that costs about $1K and sold it immediately back on eBay. The C7CE is the one I kept without any hesitation. And I own 2 concert caliber guitars from well known luthiers and have played a Marin-Montero briefly. So I recognize guitar quality. For under $700, the C7CE is a 'shoo in'... just get it if you are waffling or can afford to take a chance. Like me, you may sell one of the luthier built instruments to have the $$, and be content to play and enjoy the Cordoba and keep the thousands difference!

  • I`ve got much more than what I was expecting

As reviewed by Mauricio on 10/13/2010

Unfortunately, some items at the online catalog have a lack of useful information or pictures, and as a costumer, one needs some more basis to decide if a particular instrument is the one you are looking for. Well, this is one of those items; but the truth is that this is a very special instrument: stuning look, great playability, perfect action and wonderful crispy sound. The cedar of the top is beautiful, and the rosewood of the back and sides makes a great combination with the warm sound of the cedar. I still have my hesitations about the laminate of the rosewood of the back and sides, but it looks as beautiful and resistant than any solid wood. Actually I own a Breedlove all solid wood construction, and I wuld`nt be able to tell the real diference. Time will tell. Apart from that, I think this is a wonderful instrument; I bought it online and I got a beautiful instrument with excellent protection and with a trendy and resistant gig bag. If you are interested in this guitar, dont hesitate, you?ll have a nice surprise.
