  • awesome guitar

As reviewed by rusty1974 on 6/22/2010

I'm new to nylon guitars (my very first nylon). But upon playing this one, (after trying a few)I fell in love with it right away. A very nice and soothing sound when you play it. yes, it's not loud but that's how I like it on classical nylon guitars. Very clean sound too. yes I would definitely recommend this one.

  • My Cordoba

As reviewed by Faye Sheinman on 2/16/2011

My Cordoba 45R. In a small humidor room with an experienced sales person and highly rated guitar instructor who just happened to stop in, I verbalized my requests. My life long desire has been to play Bossa Nova and Classical Spanish guitar. Price is a bit of a concern but sound cannot be compromised! So I asked the instructor if he would be so kind as to play each guitar while I positioned myself in front of him and turned away. I knew not the guitar manufacturer, model or price. I specifically asked that he not intentionally play the higher priced guitars better. He hand selected 5-6 guitars, which he thought were the best of what was displayed and started playing my requests. My decision was immediate with a smile on my face as I said that's it, that's the one! I turned around and asked what do you have? The Cordoba 45R he said, and went on to say, "it is a beautiful guitar in every way not to mention the quality of materials the sound it delivers and the value", price if you will. He continued to put The Cordoba as I call it; through it's paces and thoroughly checked out all of the hardware and overall construction. I must say that I am just as happy today almost 1 1/2 years post purchase as I was when I first heard The Cordoba played. My mother is a professional when it comes to piano and voice; she heard The Cordoba a few days ago and smiled while taking in the beautiful warm yet full and gentle sounds. I am delighted with my purchase, & highly recommend this model while looking forward to a lifetime of peace and calm that it brings me. Please note that Cordoba makes quality Classical guitars modestly priced so that anyone who is serious about playing specific genre?s as I, can find the perfect guitar that suits their needs, even a smaller ? size. Love your guitar, and love life, it is Cordoba! Purchased at Guitar Center in Plymouth Meeting, PA November 2009. F. S.

  • Review of Cordoba 45R

As reviewed by RJGarcia on 10/25/2006

I recently purchased the Cordoba 45R because of the prestige surrounding its name. I must say, the acclaim is well deserved. From the first time you lay eyes on the guitar, the physical asthetics are readily apparent. Gold plated tuners, beautiful ebony fretboard, elegant rosewood back and sides, and an intricate rosette pattern give this instrument a look that rivals guitars several times its price. The sound response was equally impressive. The cedar top lends itself nicely to gentle picking and swift chord playing, though it left a bit to be desired when put through heavy rasgueados, seeming a bit too passive and subdued. The action of the strings was just right; however, there is a bit of string buzz on the low E when tuned down to a dropped D. The neck was superbly comfortable and provided ease of operation when progressing through chord changes. The fit and finish of the guitar is good as well, the only flaw I noticed was a small amount of glue on the inside bracing that was not cleared away. Overall, I would say the Cordoba 45R is a fantastic deal and I would recommend it to those looking for a great guitar at an entry-level price.
