  • Cordoba 25CK Concert Ukulele

As reviewed by Dr. R on 11/30/2010

Albeit that I am a beginner learning the ukulele, I did a reasonable amount of research to select a decent instrument. The Cordoba 25CK has a beautiful tone, an outstanding koa wood grain, and stood out from other ukuleles I tried. It came with Aquila nylgut strings and I was amazed how well it holds tuning right after I brought it home. I am not sure what others were seeing as a limitation regarding not holding its tuning. I am very pleased with my purchase and anticipate playing this ukuele for a long time! I hope this review is helpful to you in your purchase of a ukulele. Happy Holidays!

  • Great Ukulele

As reviewed by JULIA B on 9/12/2011

I went to GC to shop for a good little instrument that I can play for many years. I found this instrument to be well made and easy to play. The set up was excellent with great attention to detail. Above all, the sound is fantastic! Since I've had it (about a week now) everyone enjoys playing i!. It is beautiful to look at and beautiful to play. Excellent!!!

  • Amazing sound!

As reviewed by Sven on 9/2/2011

The Cordoba CK25 Uke is one that I tested in detail at the store before buying. I already own an Ibanez and a Silver Creek soprano. When I went to the store, I sat in the acoustic guitar room and tested all ukuleles for a long time, and multiple brands (high end Lanakais, etc.). The winner: Cordoba CK25. Why? Solid koa at a reasonable price. Sure, they say it?s Portugese koa versus Hawaiian koa?who cares? The sound is impeccable. I noticed in my testing of at least ten ukuleles that day that the Cordoba, despite being solid wood, was the lightest out there. The open tuners on simple headstock make for a very light and airy feel, and the body of the guitar is super thin with outstanding ton, yet does not at all feel cheap. As you can see, the reviews online are unanimous about the quality of the build. It?s true. And the light weight compared to other ukes, especially in the head, makes it a joy to play for hours. I?m not a guitarist, but now understand that Cordoba makes some high end nylon stringed classical guitars, with some priced in the thousands. Cordoba has a wonderful website, and I sincerely ask you to google it and see all the fine ukes and guitars they manufacture. The quality shows, and it comes through in this ukulele. Even the gig bag is outstanding, not a throw-away like many gig bags. You have to see it to understand how plush (20mm) and thick it is. The gig bag alone is worth the difference in price between this model and some other major brands. My Cordoba does not go out of tune, and has no buzz. I adore it. I truly will keep this ukulele for life. A winner.
