My new Cordoba 20TM-CE isn't fancy but it is a well-made, nice-sounding instrument at a great price. The quality of the craftsmanship wasn't compromised to achieve price. The solid African mahogany is a very good tone wood. There are much more expensive woods that could have been used, but African mahogany while less expensive is being used in many well-respected guitars. The missing expensive things like bindings would only have been for looks anyway. I like the tone which is a bit brighter than my Pono solid Ohai tenor ukulele. It came with Aquila strings which are a real favorite of today's ukulele players. I replaced the G string with an an Aquila low G string. It sounds really nice both acoustically and when plugged in. The solid African mahogany is finished beautifully and has nice grain. The fretboard is set up very well and all fret positions play cleanly (not bad for an inexpensive cutaway.) I've listened to a bunch of tenor ukuleles in this price range and this ukulele sounds and plays as well as the best, plus you get a very adequate pickup without blowing your budget.
