Product Information

Superb looks, active electronics, and super playability!

The Groove Tool 7-stringer bases its awesome tonal capabilities on a body made of tone-rich, lightweight ash topped with figured maple coupled with Bartolini active pickups. The multi-laminate neck is constructed of incredibly stable wenge and purpleheart, carved to an extremely comfortable profile. The headstock is angled back to increase tension over the nut which improves sustain. A beautifully contoured neck heel and deep cutaway body shape gives you unobstructed access to all 24 frets. Conklin's exclusive off-side position markers are easily visible from both the top and side of the fingerboard. The active electronics let you shape your tone from mellow to monstrous and the GT-7 is equipped with Conklin's trademark locking input jack so you'll never again inadvertently pull your plug.

amazing bass!!

ive played the conklin gt7 for over a year now and cant compare it to any other basses i own...its absolutely the best...to anyone looking to extend their range, this is the bass to buy...it compliments all playing styles...from rock to tapping...and especially jazz...it gets a great pop/slap tone however, the string spacing on it is a bit narrow and takes getting use to...but thats my only complaint....the neck is super flat and fast...and the best sounding low ''b'' ive ever heard....not muddy at all...and you cant go wrong with the bartolinis p/u.... ...definitely a leader in bass products....check them out.

Good, but not great

This bass is very good. The playability is excellent, once I changed the bridge to a wider string spaced bridge. The bridge that comes with the bass has a much too narrow string spacing, even though the neck accomodates a much wider string spacing. Other than that, the electronics leave a bit to be desired, but they're not that bad.
